Hi guys,
Right now i am in Patna feeling so hot and humid here just like new Delhi. (35°-39°). My college friends of 26-28age group are planning to visit PONDICHERRY on 2sept-6sept. I have never been to this place so kindly tell me, is it good time to visit ?
Thank You.

definitely go to Puducherry rather than Nepal vepal, as the former place has got ONLY the most mild mannered, soft spoken, humble and very politically correct people who never speak anything that might make people go ‘arey baap re! yeh kya hua’ .
and may even extend you the courteous lodging, boarding, sight seeing (Auroville included) facilities and vehicular assistance.. all on the house.

I was planning for Nepal. but couple of tour operators said that – now a days people are not going nepal.
I think, Last earth quake sey jo damage hua tha, uska development abhi hua nai.
you’re in delhi means, visit chandigarh or manali ? pondicherry in not hillstation, and its climate is not cool, its Goa of south india, only beach everywhere beach, beer and ashramam’s, and ofcource lot of french people.

i completely agree and second that AKA bro. especially so because not (in Sept.) it would be pleasant to be in the foothills or terrai. (and perhaps fee the chills of the http://www.amazon.in/dp/0195...53 in Corbett country ). Makes sense rather than criss-crossing through India to be in hotter, humider more humid region (with similar people |cough| |cough| )
pardon me! for the context of the comment wouldn’t have dawned upon you unless you know the internal poly ticks the backstories of Desidime.
@Baroood above has/had tagged @Magge [who is a proud localite from Pondy (as some call it)]
despite knowing well his (Magus’) earlier first reactions on a similar topic (for similar post Monsoon travel dates last year) → http://www.desidime.com/forums/dost-and-dimes/t...
although @Magge DID have some change of heart later → http://www.desidime.com/forums/dost-and-dimes/t...
i guess @OP might have to go with peer pressure decisions (unless he is the influencing types to change the thinking of a large group) and decide to go ahead and plan the trip down under.
in that case, request you to check the links mentioned above in this comment and also a similar topic from January of 2015 → http://www.desidime.com/forums/dost-and-dimes/t...
and also tag or check privately with some of the people who shared relevant views in those two (topics).

it purely depends on your own disposition and personal choices.
some might like the hustle-bustle of a metro like Dubai or New-york, others might prefer solitude or being closer to nature.
some might like the ‘kadaake ki sardi’ with rewadi and gajak, whilst some might prefer the rains or the Sun !
You know better what you’d enjoy or find rejuvenating. in First week Sept. (i think) you’d still see some rains in Pondy.
so that and the normal hustle-bustle of a “tourist attraction” are to be expected. The ‘true’ post monsoon ‘season’ is more likely to start in October types when there is that slight nip in the air.
you are obviously going to miss the good chehal pehal and celebratory mood during google.com/search?q=Sri+Aurobindo+birth+date so decide as per common consensus within your group and if the slightly wet and slushy Pondy is okay for you.
Bests
if ever it gets too cold for comfort you can meet @Magus whose legendary warmth and hospitality will definitely drive away the blues !

go to Latur !
one of the richest states of the country with the best access to every imaginable resource has developed and turned Latur into a paradise on Earth after that 1993 disaster.

But OP wants to know about Pondicherry… Somebody help him…
exact season is New year, more parties and light music and all…it exactly like Goa
I am from chennai.. Been there to Pondicherry or Pudhucherry for more than 10 times.
There is nothing much to see for 5 days trip and all..
We normally go for one day trip or two days trip if its for drinking… as its union territory, booze is damn cheap like goa..
There is no hill stations, or falls etc available nearby.. You can check for couple of places… nothing more..
September month is a rainy season here in chennai and pondicherry.. So you will not face much of sun. But sure there is nothing like water rafting or anything going during that time..
Enjoy the trip.. have fun..
NOTE: I Personally believe your friends are just making you to come long way so that they can spend very very less. If okay means, No problem.. Come, booze and enjoy…(not much to sight a girls like goa if that you expect).
i would prefer going to ooty or kodaikanal or chickmangalore..
Ask them to come to bangalore or mysore(for you flight will be much lower than to chennai as many current offers going on from bangalore). From there go to chickmangalore.. its awesome place and you can enjoy a lot than pondicherry..
Pm me I will guide about pondicherry
Thank you so much guys for replying me. I dont wanna go in September month bcz of off season, but there are few people in my friends groups who are just forcing me to join in 1st week of september. Its better i will visit Pondicherry in october-january month. Why i would waste my money on such a long jounrney (in off season) .
better go nepal as very close to bihar and cheap..btw m from patna too
