@enapster There could be many reasons. But I have noticed that many newbies do this in the hopes that you would give them Karma or “follow” them back (a tacit request which some seniors duly comply with ). Some users, however, have a very simple and genuine reason that one or more of your posts helped them immensely.

I can speak about this with certain authority as this same question puzzled me in my early days and I asked many users why they chose to become my fan.

Years ago there was no Karma Concept on Desidime. So we used to Check the Number of Fans Regularly. And Also wish on every Fan Number Milestone just like we are doing it now for Karma Points.
