Recommend a Glucometer

Was using onetouch for years but the strips are too expensive.
Recently switched to Alere G1. Strips are ~₹8/test and it is pretty accurate. I compared it’s result with lab test. First i did the test at home and than immediately at the lab(the lab is located Just 50m from my house). I did total 3 tests and difference between glucometer reading and lab test was never greater than 3mg/dl.

I bought it from 1mg using paypal offer and got the glucometer+50 test strips @₹500.

Using this accu-chek one at home, specifically for dad. This is the first time we got one at home and have no specific concerns regarding it except that the lancelets and test strips together cost around Rs. 23 per test at home (MRP, if we get discounts then lower).

Compared to lab tests, the results we off by around 3% to 4% in general but keep hearing accu-chek is a reputed brand so never bothered as that minor error isn’t such a point of concern either.

Using accu check instant S, haven’t compared with lab results.
