Whatever mi phone you buy,buy atleast 3gb version. 2gb super laggy.

i think lagging is not a problem. we can turn off animations & bloatware can be disabled for smooth experience even in 2gb ram. right?

Your dad will use it, so the mobile will be use for atleast 2-3 yrs. Don’t go for 2gb.

Go for 7a then. I’m using 7a for over 4 months. The only con is that charging is slow. I have over 30 apps installed other than factory, still 1gb is always free out of 2gb. I don’t play games or record videos or click photos. So 2/16 is more than sufficient. Otherwise you can consider 32gb as well. It comes with a dedicated card slot also.
You can ask if you have any specific questions. If you are from Delhi, you can come to my home and use the phone for an hour or two and explore for yourself.

But paytm app uses ~200-300mb ram depending on browsed section.Phonepe app ram usage is also increasing compared to older versions.Getting 2gb ram phone nowadays is a bit risky but nothing serious as the worst you will face will be refreshing of app.

Redmi mobiles needs some tricky tweak settings by the user to make it lag free since miui apps and ads service will load all the way in background, so why this issue in all phones. If it is properly tuned then its its good one.

No tweaking necessary. Just install Blockada and say goodbye to ads everywhere. Not just in browsers but also apps. Root not required. Although crappy MIUI tended to unload it. Don’t remember if it had been fixed after whitelisting it under Battery Optimization in MIUI. Free and Open Source.
