Do Not Even Try that esp from China… Not because of Import Duty.
Chinese version and language support is different.

If Import from US then Completely fine.

@ankitgoel33433783 Better get it from Nepal. Its available from official Xiaomi distributor since October 3rd. Will cost the equivalent of INR 18K though. Why not wait a few months for Redmi Note 4 with likely Qualcomm SD653 and vastly more palatable price to launch in India?

If you take my personal opinion, redmi note 4 is not worth this much trouble. Even if you install a global rom, mediatek is known for not disclosing their kernel sources and coz of that you won’t be able to enjoy future generation of androids.

Snapdragon 650 is fairly powerful processor and there isn’t much difference in note 3 and 4 generation to justify 7-8K of difference(almost double of redmi note 3).

You can look at other phones if you don’t want redmi note 3 especially.

Well Redmi Note 3 was launched in March of this year. So its only reasonable to expect for its successor to launch in a year’s timeframe. And yeah the rumoured SD653 should be plenty powerful. Dont go for Redmi Note 4 in its Mediatek avatar. Poor battery life and non-existed Custom ROMs etc.

this version is just 6 months old(released in march), You can’t compare the original one and snapdragon version since both are completely different. Also I am not aware about any SD653, Possibly this processor is just a rumor.

You cant be serious! 3GB/64GB is as good as it gets for the mid-range. Otherwise who will buy their high-end devices? Dual Camera is unlikely in this price range considering the Redmi Pro’s price. But one can still hope. AMOLED panel(RGB layout instead of PenTile) will be great but not sure Xiaomi will make the effort to properly calibrate it.

all the new socs of sd supports dual cam (653,626, 427). You can even expect a lower end powered by 427 with dual cam for 8k+ …

Superficially yes. But it sports a spanking new micro-architecture in the form of Cortex A73, instead of Cortex A72, which is geared towards sustained peak performance as opposed to most current mobile SoCs(excluding Apple’s) that are not able to maintain their peaks for more than a few minutes at best. ARM estimates 10-15% higher IPC AND 20% lower power consumption! This is a decent upgrade but (deliberately)hampered by the 28nm node as A73 on a 14/16nm and clocked appropriately will be embarrassing for Kyro. Guess Huawei(not Mediatek) will be able to derive its full potential. And ofc the MODEM side gets a welcome upgrade. Also QC 3.0. @kapilkrazzy
Edit: They could have atleast switched the A53 cores with A35 ones which were announced a year ago. 80-100% perf of A53 but at 25% lower power consumption! Lazy Qualcomm.

There is no A73 cores in this one. When they will introduce A73, they will increase snapdragon number at least by 5-10 to show significant difference.

All the SoC released today are just having modem upgrade and nothing else.

QC3.0 was already available in sd652.

Oops! Just assumed the earlier rumours were cent percent correct without checking for the news today. My bad. SD660 or whatever its called better have them A73 on a newer process! @getready I stand corrected.
