Refund issues in smartbuy portal

Guys need suggestion/help with respect to smartbuy cancellations and refunds

I do not want to tag seller here before getting full information. On March 8th , I booked multiple flights . Due to this corona pandemic my event was cancelled . So as per trader suggestions , he told me to cancel directly with airline and let him know. I did it . His booking offer for flights was 10% off with no convenience fees. Booking was done in smartbuy portal using his diners card points . Coming to my queries , I cancelled flight on mar 13th. Refund amount is close to 10k as it involves 9 tickets. It's been almost 1 month , he says he still dint get refund. He says checking points daily and emails. Also he says smartbuy cc more wait time and no response. Guide me on below things

1) How many days does this point refund generally takes as ppl who booked with own card got refund credited next week itself ?!

2) Is there any way to verify seller answers ?! What all I should question him ?!

Kindly help me as I'm in own personal crisis currently and in need of money

1) How many days does this point refund generally takes as ppl who booked with own card got refund credited next week itself ?!
A: 30 business days and can be 40 calendar days, it took 30 calendar days for me once.
Since its special situation for both Airlines and Bank it may take longer than normal time due to less working staff etc.

2) Is there any way to verify seller answers ?! What all I should question him ?!
A:No way to verify even seller can not verify/track other than waiting, if dimer is trusted then you also just wait

1st point need few more clarification… He booked in smartbuy portal thro yatra and cleartrip… I spoke to airline cc… They have confirmed me already refunded to respective sites…. I spoke to yatra/cleartrip with partner id… They also told refunded to source… This happened 10 days back… How come points not received back still then ?! Anything to be initiated from seller side ?!

He need to mail to smart buy customer care and get the points refunded.
I have not got for one of the flight even after 1 month. I will mail them now and will update you. Even i will lose some money as i used smartbuy voucher for many bookings

No bro… I booked fr 39k …. Airline cancellation charge was heavy… Total 9 tickets… Only 10k refund was told will be given by airline as I cancelled 1 day before my departure

Bro even I’m waiting for refund almost 15 days and smartbuy customer responds once in 6-10 days. The support is horrible

Even I didn’t get the refund from smartbuy. Cancelled on 14th March. I contact airlines also they told me it will take upto 30 working days.

I also have not received , it has been more than 1 month. Smartbuy is saying that they have not received confirmation for partner (cleartrip).

But wt did cleartrip say ?! U got any confirmed info ?! Reference id or anything that they have sent it to smartbuy?!

I personally dont have any knowledge on hdfc and this portal so cant tell about usual circumstances.
But if the seller whom you traded with is an old user (with or without high karma), would recommend to wait till lockdown is lifted, if its a newbie then bleak chances of recovery
And even the cyber cell wont be as active currently , in case you decide that

The refund is not automatic. The hdfc credit card holder should talk to customer care to get the refund. First of all, the cancellation should have been done through and not directly airline. But it is still possible to refund, but he needs to talk to hdfc.

@sb007 @nomag I told him very clearly to login into his smartbuy account and cancel… He denied doing it and told me to do airline cancellation as that only will be told by smartbuy as well… I have exact proof of what he guided

Its total mistake on his part. He should have done himself and would have got refund more easily.

I had a train booking through smartbuy for April ,as IRCTC automatically cancelled all the train , money returned to agency I.e smartbuy ,I do recived payment credits to card after 2 days . it was booked through card not points. If dinners card customer support is still available then the best solution is raise a ticket . You will get a ticket number . Second solution is Directly message to HDFC twitter handle with last 4 last digit of your card number , they reply in 5-6 days but Most probably they will work on this case for sure . Recently I recived 450 rs excess charge reverted to my card by following the second way .
