Guys need suggestion/help with respect to smartbuy cancellations and refunds

I do not want to tag seller here before getting full information. On March 8th , I booked multiple flights . Due to this corona pandemic my event was cancelled . So as per trader suggestions , he told me to cancel directly with airline and let him know. I did it . His booking offer for flights was 10% off with no convenience fees. Booking was done in smartbuy portal using his diners card points . Coming to my queries , I cancelled flight on mar 13th. Refund amount is close to 10k as it involves 9 tickets. It’s been almost 1 month , he says he still dint get refund. He says checking points daily and emails. Also he says smartbuy cc more wait time and no response. Guide me on below things

1) How many days does this point refund generally takes as ppl who booked with own card got refund credited next week itself ?!

2) Is there any way to verify seller answers ?! What all I should question him ?!

Kindly help me as I’m in own personal crisis currently and in need of money

1) How many days does this point refund generally takes as ppl who booked with own card got refund credited next week itself ?!
A: 30 business days and can be 40 calendar days, it took 30 calendar days for me once.
Since its special situation for both Airlines and Bank it may take longer than normal time due to less working staff etc.

2) Is there any way to verify seller answers ?! What all I should question him ?!
A:No way to verify even seller can not verify/track other than waiting, if dimer is trusted then you also just wait

100% refund available for your cancelled tickets ?
He need to mail to smart buy customer care and get the points refunded.
I have not got for one of the flight even after 1 month. I will mail them now and will update you. Even i will lose some money as i used smartbuy voucher for many bookings

No bro… I booked fr 39k …. Airline cancellation charge was heavy… Total 9 tickets… Only 10k refund was told will be given by airline as I cancelled 1 day before my departure

1st point need few more clarification… He booked in smartbuy portal thro yatra and cleartrip… I spoke to airline cc… They have confirmed me already refunded to respective sites…. I spoke to yatra/cleartrip with partner id… They also told refunded to source… This happened 10 days back… How come points not received back still then ?! Anything to be initiated from seller side ?!

Ask him to send mail confirmation keeping you in CC
Provide him refund reference id u have received from airline( if not received send mail to them first and get)

He told me have already sent email 10 days back … Dint keep me in cc and no updates to me for anything… No replies he has received too yet itseems

Nothing, ask seller to speak to HDFC CC for any update.

Bro even I’m waiting for refund almost 15 days and smartbuy customer responds once in 6-10 days. The support is horrible

Even I didn’t get the refund from smartbuy. Cancelled on 14th March. I contact airlines also they told me it will take upto 30 working days.

Nothing I have got , with the Smartbuy reference ID I am not able to contact them through phone……but yesterday on site only I found one option to check and there it is showing that ticket is not cancelled and showing confirmed status for ticket. In my case customer messed it up , without contacting me he cancelled directly with airlines and moreover informing me after 7 days of cancelling the ticket. I have talked to smartbuy 2-3 times but they say they want partner confirmation to process refund.

This shows his intention not to help you, first try to settle here only. Just exposed him here. Some seniors can help.

From the day I cancelled he doesn’t give a care of anything… It’s been 35 days since I cancelled the booking now… Not sure if he even has a knowledge of it… He openly says if u tag me in DD he won’t reply for anything

He has to reply, if wants to continue in DD, else admin can suspend him. Also some senior dimers who have relation with him can also resolve the issue. Give him chance to explain here b4 going for cyber cell complainant

Suspension isnt a solution here, desidime account isnt that integral after all, the seller wont lose anything but the buyer’s money is permanently gone

I personally dont have any knowledge on hdfc and this portal so cant tell about usual circumstances.
But if the seller whom you traded with is an old user (with or without high karma), would recommend to wait till lockdown is lifted, if its a newbie then bleak chances of recovery
And even the cyber cell wont be as active currently , in case you decide that

Actually he has higher karma than me… I’m ready to wait fr refund until lockdown is lifted… But we have to do some process atleast until then so that v can get refund… He is not showing any proofs of what he is doing with it… It’s a matter of 8500rs bro

Yes bro,thats why said that suspension isnt a solution
It could be a genuine reason too , and the current times are extraordinary so best option is to wait , ask him for proofs after lockdown
Filing any cyber complaint wont be of any help as of now

The refund is not automatic. The hdfc credit card holder should talk to customer care to get the refund. First of all, the cancellation should have been done through and not directly airline. But it is still possible to refund, but he needs to talk to hdfc.
