Reliance Jio as home WiFi?

Guys, I’ve been seeing this reliance jio thing a lot on internet lately and I ignored them completely because I do not own a smartphone. Today I’ve seen “Jio wi-fi hotspot” for 1999 ad and it caught my attention.
I’m currently paying 700 per month for a 1mbps (10mbps upto 50GB) wired internet connection. That 50 GB won’t even last me 5 days so I’m pretty much stuck with 1mbps for rest of 25 days. Which sucks because I can’t even stream 360p on youtube without buffering.I would be more than happy to get rid of my current ISP and migrate to Jio, IF it is anything better than my current plan.
I wanna ask you guys, Is it worth getting that Jio hotspot as a replacement to my current wifi? How much does it cost per month? Do I need a smartphone to use that device?

Why PM? I will say it openly. Have downloaded around 4-5 TB from torrents, plural sight, utube. Had to do at least another 100GB but they did a ‘bait and switch’. But for some reason BSNL broadband is still chugging at 2mbps even after FUP

My friend had utilized 175GB in about 20 days and I thought that was the highest ever.
