Reliance Jio to reportedly offer free services until March 2017

Recently, some reports suggested that Reliance Jio’s enticing Welcome offer would end on December 3rd, earlier than the planned date of December 31st. However, the company clarified that only its free SIM offer would end on December 3rd, but its users would be able to avail the free services until December 31st. Now a new report is suggesting that Reliance Jio may extend its offer of free services to consumers until March 2017.

According to Live Mint, Reliance Industries Ltd. management has said that there are no restrictions on the number of promotional offers a telecom operator can offer. According to TRAI’s guidelines, a company can only run a promotional offer for 90 days, which in Jio’s case ends on December 3rd as it launched the services on September 5th. However, there’s no rule on how many times a company can run any promotional offer.

Reliance Jio’s Welcome Offer includes a free SIM, unlimited data (FUP of 4GB per day), unlimited voice calls, messages, and access to Jio’s premium app suite. The company is facing issues with rival telcos for a lack of enough interconnect points to handle calls on its network. Recently, TRAI found the incumbent operators guilty of blocking Reliance Jio calls, and recommended a fine of Rs 3,050 crores.

Jio is looking to begin charging its customers once the company’s services are glitch-free. Anshuman Thakur, head of strategy and planning at Reliance Jio, said, “We have told Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) and government that customers have faced issues with regard to the quality of service due to the interconnection congestion and they have not been able to enjoy the services that they deserve and what we want to deliver to them. And till we are in a position where we can deliver the quality of service as desired by the Jio management, it will be unfair to charge the customer

lolzz, they need a lot of time to fix all their infrastructure issues before going live with paid plans so I am not much amazed if they do so https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif
anyways free stuff is always welcome, hope they keep delaying the launch and we keep enjoying the free services https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

this is 4G, they’re moving directly to cutting edge technology (atleast its cutting edge for indians) and 4G is even used (actually feeled) by vast majority of people…

even people who even not used 2G is now buying 4G phone especially for trying this free offer..

Relaince jio is failure or success in terms of profit is not known bcoz they not earning money, but they are improving a lot…

Offtopic:
Big thanks to jio for removing call boosters and sms packs..Airtel is bribing big money for 20paise, 30 paise boosters…+ top up needed https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_sad.gif

planned to buy Aircel or reliance 2G sim as optional, so no call drop or interconeection problem, as both are inter-network (even MTS too)

I don’t think this will happen even if Reliance wants to do it. AVOID will somehow find a way to shoot down those plans. AVOID group is already screwd up big time after Jio launch, last thing they want is another 3 months of free service.

TRAI has already cut the free trip short.

Nobody can stop them to launch another free offer after the stipulated date. Also, they can always quote the poor quality of interconnects / call drop percentage to say they are not ready to give the user experience that they have defined (or TRAI has defined) and hence the free service will continue.

I am expecting the free service to get extended by at least another 3 months (or even 6 months) before the network stabilises and AVoId falls in line with the interconnect / call drop fine issues.

I talked to jio customer care 2 days ago..and he said jio is providing 4 months WELCOME OFFER to every new customer…and the last date to grab new FREE SIM is 3rd december.
So 3rd december ’s activated sim will be FREE for next 4 months (30th March).

And that is true..my plan is active till Feb.12, 2017
I checked in my plan in old jio app v3.2.05 and the customer care executive also confirmed it.

Every free offer will be rolled back once they launch it. Don’t ever trust them in this case. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif
