Friendly reminder
The conversion rate for instant redemption of reward points on Citibank Rewards Card and
IndianOil Citibank Credit Card will change from 6th January 2015 onwards.
OLD : 100 points = Rs.40
NEW : 100 points = Rs.30
:
I don’t have citi or SCB credit card
Thanks Dan. Done with it.
I have Citibank Rewards Card and Indian Oil Citibank Credit Card but now using only Indian Oil card much as it is still beneficial for taking petrol. 1 point value on the petrol is still equal to 1 Rs.
Thanks, I have citi Indian oil CC.

They have devalued all the credit cards including premier miles. 1 premier miles was equal to 50p before but now it is 45p. I don’t know if it worth paying 3k+ taxes per year as annual fees for this card.
I was transferred over from the Jet Airways card, so my annual fee is only 1K on the Premier Miles card. But this devaluation of miles is going to hurt me bad. They will also change the very attractive 30% fixed interest to a variable one. The policy change for the Premier Miles card will be effective from February 1, 2015 so we still have some time to protest.
I hope there is a big uproar so Citibank ends up retracting this disastrous policy change. I have already made my opinions known via several channels. I suggest everyone with a Premier Miles card to do the same. This is NOT the time to take this lightly.

if you get any news from citi regarding this do let me know. Citi should have at-least restrained devaluation on higher end cards where they charge high annual fees. I own all three of Citibank’s card ie Rewards, IndianOil and premier-miles. Off the three my favorite is premier-miles due to good rewards point structure. Do you recommend any other airmiles cards? i’m not a great fan of jetairways so i steer clear of any co-branded card with jet as partner.
How i wish Indigo partners with some credit card company to offer a co Branded card.
Had delayed redemption for the last day hoping that I would redeem those at ShoppersStop online. But now I realize that it is available only at stores for Rewards cards.
Still more attractive for low-end users as they haven’t applied any redemption charges as it has become a norm among other banks.

Sure, will let you know if there’s any change. Citi Premier Miles is also my favorite, mostly for travel bookings. But I tend to use it for day to day shopping as well. As for other airline CCs, I have a Jet Airways branded credit card but you wouldn’t be interested in that. To be clear, if it weren’t for the overseas travel and upgrades to their excellent business class (Premiere), I wouldn’t like Jet either.
How do u manage to get upgrade to business class? Enlighten me sir plz

There is no scientific method that I can share with you. In short, it’s a combination of these things:
- Jet Privilege member since 2006
- Lot of international trips
- Jet Privilege tier changes between Gold and Platinum (i.e. free upgrade vouchers)
- My charm. You wouldn’t believe how many times I got upgraded simply because of this factor.

Wow Charm lol
I was told that Airlines has simple policy on upgrades…. if a seat is vacant in any airlines it is normally offered to highest level member travelling in economy class
How many international trips do u take in a year?

I know it might sound strange to someone who has not been upgraded to business class for free, but the charm-factor is a major one. Ask any frequent traveler and they’ll confirm. Even if the entire business class is empty, the airline counter/gate staff will not upgrade you if you act grumpy or be rude with them. As for how many international trips I take, sorry, but can’t disclose that because:
- The number might seem abnormally high and, instead of believing it, you will LOL again
- Might get bombarded with PMs for requests to import stuff

Thanks for making me realize how I have shot myself in the foot in the most hilarious way.
@Others: Goss8877 did not ask for anything. And, to be clear, I will not entertain any import requests from anybody for anything in return.

Give me someof ur charm plz….
Upgrade powers are with
1. Captain of the plane
2. Ground Staff Manager for the Airlines
The people who check you in are shared staff who are on contract and same people board flights across airlines at least tht is the case in Mumbai and Delhi – from BA to Jet airways to Lufthansa to Air India…. Emirates to Viman
Although, The conversion rate will remain same if you want to convert to direct cash

Ok, so either you have done some research on this, or you have also traveled extensively. In either case, know this: I have been upgraded for free by the airline staff of Jet Airways, Virgin, and AI. Of course, I can’t be sure who actually initiated the upgrade for all of the cases as sometimes I was intimated about the upgrade at the gate. I have never gotten an upgrade from Mumbai. But I have been mostly upgraded for free from these cities (not an exhaustive list): Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Singapore, Brussels, NY (JFK), Newark, Chicago.

Deal seekar kya bol raha goss bhai se jayda mat bol
I almost forgot that I can redeem card’s accumulated points. Thanks Dan for reminding me.
looks like some of the members are curious about free upgrade to Business class. What deal seeker said is correct. The people who usually get upgraded to business class are the ones who are well dressed and presentable. Having good relationship with the airlines also helps to certain extend..

At the risk of sounding like a preacher, I would also like to add that well spoken, well dressed, well read, and well traveled people always get such preferences in all aspects of real life. Probably to my own detriment, this is partly why I sometimes emphasize using the correct grammar and well composed sentences. I recently saw a movie that somewhat deals with this topic, although it mostly focuses on the proximity-effect. I highly recommend anybody interested in this subject to watch it. Being There (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt00...1/)
Ah, I’d read their email earlier, thanks for the reminder!
I’ve got ~1300 points, time to buy a book from Infibeam as usual

I used it on Vodafone site for mobile payment 100 points = 40 Rs,
there are other options too like direct cash (condition: Points > 5000 and rate 100 pt = 35 rs) .
choose whats best for you.
