Dear Dimers, Requesting Advice & Suggestion. My situation:

I have a Lenovo A3000-H tablet (7", 1GB RAM, 16GB ROM, 3G with dual sim) that is almost 3 years old. It was good and I liked it. Even after almost 3 years of use, it still gave 6-7 hours of battery life (active use), like it was when new. Yesterday morning I left it for charging and I remember seeing the charge level of 97%. I left it to complete charging, when I came back, it just had the lenovo logo on the screen. I tried rebooting. It showed the lenovo logo on the first two reboots and after that it is completely dead. I know that the battery must be close to fully charged. I tried 3 things – the hard reset option (power + vol up), the reset button (remove back cover and the button is next to the sim slot), disconnected the battery (after removing the 15 screws and inner cover) and connected it back after waiting a while. Nothing helped.

Two options I am considering:

1. Lenovo Serice – I have heard very bad reviews of Lenovo service. Moreover, what are the chances they can actually fix a 3 years old model?

2. Buying a new tab – For a new one I am thinking of 8" with at least 200ppi, 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM, 4G (Dual sim preferred, not mandatory) – Couldn’t find many options! Looking for suggestions.

I don’t like the 4:3 screen. I prefer 16:9 or 16:10. It does not have 4G.

Give it a try with local repair shops. Probably battery dead/burnt.

Thanks, I will visit the Lenovo service centre. There is one near my place. Let me see what they say!

On my old tab I ran some diagnostics tools and found that the ROM is dead. Sold it on quikr for Rs 1100 to a guy who had the same model with a broken screen.

Bought ZenPad 8.0 from Flipkart.
