It behaved strangely yesterday too. All of a sudden, the touch screen was not working (hence could not reboot through the menu as it requires touch). Finally managed to reboot using power+vol-up keys (by going in recovery n rebooting again) and it was back to normal. I was suspecting it to be a software bug which got reset after a reboot.. and now this no-network issue.

PS: Did you know? this Wind4 does not have a reset button (fixed battery) under the cover?

Reliance Communications may be promising great speeds and better quality voice quality with its 4G services, but the migration from CDMA to LTE is not without its fair share of birthing pain.

According to social media posts, many users are reporting that they are not able to get any signal, and many of those that have been successfully moved from RCom’s CDMA network are reporting they are not able to use data on the new GSM service.

Most of the problems are being reported from the Mumbai and Maharashtra area, one of the first to migrate to 4G.

UPDATE: The company has said it will switch off CDMA by June in 17 circles and that the process is going smoothly.

Though users were promised a ‘4G upgrade’, many are finding themselves on RCom’s 2G network. In some places like Mumbai, they are able to latch on to the 3G network.

“My reliance wi pod is not working for past 3 days. It is continuously giving red indicator and your customer care is not even picking up my calls. Already got my 4g sim and dongle month ago and it is still not activated,” complained Naser Shaikh, a resident of Pune, on Reliance Mobile’s official Facebook page.

“Reliance network down from last two days,” rued Prafulla Deshmukh, who also seems to be from Pune according to his profile.

“Not a single phone working since past 2 days. All our staff is suffering,” complained ‎Padmashree.

Part of the reason for the confusion may be that many users did not know that a 4G-upgrade also means that the CDMA service will be switched off in many areas.

However, like in any migration process, there are also technical issues, as pointed out Chaithanya Shankpal. “Hello I am a Reliance Wi-Pod Pro 3 user. I have received the 4G sim card by post. Thereafter I started with the procedure to get upgraded to 4G and to get a new 4G LTE data card (the cost of which is obviously 899 for me). When I started with the process,after generating and submitting I was supposed to get redirected to the link where I can order my 4G LTE data card for 899,but that’s not happening.”

Reliance Communications is introducing 4G LTE with network partner Reliance Jio in most of its service areas.

The company derives a large proportion of its revenue from wireless internet services. It also offers the cheapest voice rates in the country, and has an estimated 5 mln customers on its CDMA network.

RCOM Customer wait Over :- Finaly COmpany lucnh offical few circle

Reliance Communications is offering 10 GB of 4G data for those who upgrade their CDMA connections to 4G, but the company continues to maintain silence on what its eventual tariffs will be.

According to a photo shared user volcano619 on photosharing website imgur, users in 2G-only circles will get 10 GB of 4G data for Rs 93 after they upgrade their CDMA connection.

Note: The denomination of the first recharge differs from circle to circle. In Mumbai, for example, it is Rs 97. Another thing to note is that the recharge must be done before the upgrade SMS is sent, and not after.

If users are upgrading their voice connection, they will also get unlimited reliance to reliance calling for 28 days and 1 GB of free 2G data as well.

On the other hand, if they are upgrading their CDMA data dongle, they will get an additional 5 GB of 2G data. In both cases, they get 10 GB 4G data free.

The benefits in case of RCom’s 3G circles are not known. It is possible that instead of 5 GB of 2G data, they will get 3G data in these circles.

In the remaining areas, it has 2G circles either of its own or via intra-circle roaming pacts.

As we have pointed out earlier, this is only an initial benefit and is unlikely to be continued in the long term.

Once the migration period is over — possibly by the end of this month — RCom will move 4G upgrade customers to new plans, which are likely to be from its GSM tariff list.

Feeling the same problem … It’s showing emergency network most of the time else Aircel, Vodafone network is showing instead of Reliance here in Ranchi… Forget 10GB 3G, I had recharged for 1 GB 3G but nothing is opening, can’t even say it’s 2G speed also …. I feel I had ruined my permanent no by migrating to Relaince GSM… Now no other way, had to wait 3 months to port to else other network

Happens randomly for me as well, I just leave it like that and it automatically comes back after some time. Restarting my phone works at times and interchanging the sim slots in my dual sim phone works at times.

Reliance Communications was started by Mukesh Bhai in 2002 but handed over to Anil Bhai in 2004. for 13 years, we enjoyed the superior service of CDMA at real low prices. But unfortunately now Anil bhai has forced us to shift to GSM in the name of 4G.
Reliance Jio is a new Venture of Mukesh Bhai and is pure LTE service.
Though the two may eventually become one, as of now, they are separate entities.

Looks like some issue with the phone itself (wind4) as network is still not back..

Only major change that has happened (i can think of) is update to _09 version (15mb update) a day before the issue. After that, I guess I reset the phone once and since then I am facing this issue.

Time to goto Lyf service station at the digital store.

Anyone using Wind4 upgraded their firmware to _09 version? Have you rebooted since then? Update please…

My wind 4 has been behaving strangely as well like screen get screen gets stuck and can’t enter passcode. Sometimes even after entering passcode, It stays stuck. I am forced to leave it for a while then it is up and running. It really annoys me.

PS: Though I haven’t faced network problem for prolonged period of time .

Spent some time with the phone.. Tried
1. Changed Jio SIM to slot 2 – same problem, no network
2. Used my other sim on the Lyf phone on both Slot 1 & slot 2 – works fine with both slots

So, issue with SIM network registration – spent 1 hour with the two helpline numbers. In the meanwhile, logged into the Jio account (from the PC) and notice that my service details do not exist. in simple words, my mobile number does not exist (or SIM is not registered). They could not figure out this. They wanted me to go to the store where I purchased the phone & check (in spite of me telling its been 1 month & the SIM was working fine till day before). I said I cannot do that and to take a complaint.

Now, let me wait & see what will happen . I hope I wont have to take a new number as part of the re-registration (had got a fancy number earlier )

Are you sure the network is down? In my case, they screwed up my SIM registration itself… Hence I have no network (it’s like how the status is when the sim is not activated yet).

Login to your Jio account (on Jio. Com) and check if you can see your service details! (Mine is blank when I login there)

Today’s story – subscription blocked because of ID proof mismatch. They now want me to go n resubmit the forms again at the Point Of Sale. Find this silly.. But have to do it since I don’t want o lose out on the 3 month free data and land up with a crap fone
