I want to know if the Rjio free 3 months preview offer extended to Iphone 6 ? I am waiting for the same since last 3 weeks when it was originally leaked over few online forums. Is there any way to get a Rjio free 3 months preview offer sim for Iphone 6?
But you can use the SIM in rn3 or apple 6

Yes. I’m using it in my 6S+ and speed is above 70mbps. If you can manage to get the sim with Samsung offer, it’s unlocked and can be used in most of the 4G phs.
bro I have i6 and a jio sim that I got with note 5
simply I can put that sim in i6 and enjoy internet or there is some other method to do so

That is indeed the case. After they launch commercially and end the preview offer, they are expected to release the lock for the SIMs obtained with a Lyf phone.
Jio preview offer for iPhones will come on 15th Aug.

I always get confused btw lyk or lyf. I think Reliance should’ve opted for a better name. This is the 50th+ time I said lyk phone. 😂

Don’t be sad. The “Freedom Offer” mentioned in that banner will:
(1) not be free! They will charge a certain amount per month.
(2) come with FUP on data, voice, as well as SMS.
Sure, we paid for the Lyf phones but we got the unlimited offer for free for 3 months without any FUP! For many of us Flame model users, who pay 1500 or more for good bandwidth and data packs, the Lyf phone would be a freebie at the end of the 90-day preview offer. In fact, for some Flame 2 users, the 90-day preview offer actually saved some money compared to what they were paying for internet and calls.
Don’t even get me started on the revolutionary FUP-free high speed usage when it comes to data on a mobile device. The lives and habits of many dimers would be changed permanently and they would likely go in depression once they are forced to re-adjust to the FUP-limited data.

I really wanted to buy the device, as my ISP currently sucks. What stopped me was the announcement of Jiolink.
I want a MiFi device now.
I didn’t understand about the signal though – so I have been contemplating, waiting for the August 15th’s explosion. Online someone has posted trick on how to generate the SIM card code – and obtain your free 4G SIM.
Tried that. And called the Digital Xpress store. They said to bring the device (Samsung device). So ditched that idea.
Whatever it is, I am loving how Jio is marketed at the moment. Reliance has nailed it this time, like they did it years ago.
They are spreading slowly like good poison.
And if they could provide unlimited 4G data for under 2K? It’s safe to say that God exists… in the form of Mukesh Ambani.

Yep, they are surely disrupting the entire telecom market this time as well.
As for JioLink, I would recommend you to buy the Flame 1 phone instead. Two main reasons:
(1) The signal ain’t bad in namma Bengaluru. So the advantage of having an LTE antenna permanently attached outside your house might or might not be worth the wait, depending on the signal inside your house.
(2) A smartphone would actually allow you to use the 4G network on the go as well. IMO, spending another 1000 (or 1500 bucks) for a smartphone is well worth it.

Right. What about the future? Last time I read, Rs 98 gets us 1 GB of 4G data – that’s the unconfirmed mobile data plan. It sounds good for “minimal” usage – but certainly can’t replace our home broadband, right?
If they provide 1GB 4G and unlimited 3G – that’s a whole different level. But I have a feeling home broadband will be equally powerful.
As a quick resolution, should we wait till Aug 15th? Or just buy the Lyf phone?

Not at that price. But their higher-usage plans are expected to be priced much cheaper. ~Rs.90/GB is what I pay now for Aircel 3G.

Nah, I don’t think they will provide such plans.

Buy either a Flame 1 or a Flame 2 right now. I did not even bother to think what plans they will offer after the 90-day preview offer gets over. I have replaced my primary home broadband for which I was paying around 1600 per month with a Flame 1 which costed me 4400. For the next 3 months, I would have paid 4800 with my old ISP. Instead, I paid 4400 for FUP-free usage for 3 months and the phone is essentially a freebie.
Like you, I also delayed the decision and, at one point, even decided to not buy into the scheme. But it’s a no-brainer now that they have reduced the prices of decent Lyf phones so much! See the following post (and the post linked within that one ) to get a history of my decision-making process: http://www.desidime.com/forums/hot-deals-online...
P.S. The ability to watch the Olympics and a lot of other live/on-demand content on the go via JioPlay/JioOnDemand is an added bonus.
@DealSeeker – Immensely helpful. Loved the decision-making process. We humans!
Will buy Flame 2 now. You have reframed my thinking.
I didn’t know on Aug 15th Reliance “will” (or can?) END the preview offer.Totally expected them to giveaway SIM with 3 months of free data.
Fair to say, on Independence day, they are limiting the freedom!
EDIT: I called before visiting. They said Flames are out of stuck. Another store said only Flame 1 is available.

Actually, the sales guy for Lyf at the Reliance Digital outlet I visited told me that Flame 2 is not available anywhere in the city. Now that was a big statement but I took him on his word and went with Flame 1, which is now available for only 4199. The price fell by another 200 bucks hours after I made the purchase. :-/

Oh yes, I read that and lol’d a bit.
It was your mistake as you NEVER ever told them you are the Dimer Of The Year…
Perhaps those folks are subscribed to your alerts too…
And would have recoginized by your name.
But no, you exited like a normal human!
I mean: COME ON!
Let me try as Sidbhai.
Enters the store… gets scolded, beaten, and thrown out on the street…

An update was due.
Thank to you – I didn’t check anything. Just went to the Digital Xpress store.
Asked for Flame 2 – young chap said “out of stock sir.”
So I bought Flame 1 that evening.
With a smile on my face – and a little uncertainty if it can ever replace my traditional connection.
Today is day two!
And I must admit:
I am super-impressed.
Like you said, this was a “no-brainer” decision. I have used up to 30 GB now, and found Jio’s speed extremely satisfying.
Was surprised it was working in my area…
In the morning – afternoon, I get the 6-10 mbps, while evening it goes down considerably to 3-5 mbps.
Night, however, I saw a massive bump in speed.
Easily over 20 mbps. I just don’t know why.
Read your other post on changing APN to IPV4 – did that. And now my “greed” glands really want a consistent speed…
Fact that we can make unlimited calls is another advantage that my mom is fully aware of. And she is making calls whenever she wants, even to distant relatives she rarely talks to, leading to data disturbance.
First-world problems really!
Thanks DS for making me wise!
NO JIO SIMS FOR IPHONE AND REDMI NOTE 3 CONFIRMED !
