Note – No official announcement yet but latest RuPay Circular mentioned – NPCI has entered into Network to Network connectivity arrangement with BC Card – Republic of South Korea (South Korea)

Sub: Acceptance of RuPay cards in Singapore, United Arab Emirates & South Korea

NPCI has entered into Network to Network connectivity arrangement with:

 Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS) – Republic of Singapore (Singapore)
 BC Card – Republic of South Korea (South Korea)
 Mercury Payments Services – United Arab Emirates (UAE)

The scope of the arrangement shall include:

We are pleased to inform you that the Acceptance of RuPay card in Singapore, United Arab Emirates & South Korea for the aforementioned Business cope with the respective International Network partner, will be made live in the month of April 2020 for Singapore. UAE & South Korea will be made live in subsequent months.

What is BC Card in South Korea ?

BC Card is South Korea’s biggest payment processing company and local brand network headquartered in Seoul, South Korea.
BC Card is 100% accepted all ATM, POS and Ecommerce websites in South Korea.

Note – In South Korea, Your Visa card & Mastercard also work on BC Card network, All Foreign companies Visa card, Mastercard, JCB card, UnionPay card, Diners Club card, Discover card & Now RuPay Card process local South Korean transaction through BC Card network.

In South Korea, Visa & Mastercard issue only co-badged BC Global Cards (BC Global Card treated as Visa/Mastercard/Diners Club/Discover card outside Korea) -

You can see BC Card logo on all South Korean banks issue Visa & Mastercard -

Big Brands like Netflix, Google & Apple only accept BC Cards in South Korea (Including local websites in Korea), Netflix & Apple also nowhere mentioned accept Visa/Mastercard in South Korea because Visa/Mastercard only accept in BC Cards network.
