fun with sbi rewards is over now. used to get rewards more than credicards with lot of redemption options like catalog, instant gv and prepaid cards. but from jan 1st 2020 sbi rewards are capped to 100 points per transaction and 1000 points per month. effectively we can 250 rupees per month with 1000 points. previously we used to get higher rewards for higher debit cards variants like platinum card etc without any uppercap for earning reward points. now reward earning is same for all card variants.
tip: we can degrade to lower card variant now which has less AMC. PFA

I thought 100 points max in a transaction & 1000 points max in a month was the standard from the beginning(got very less points in oct amazon sale for online debit card transactions & these limits seems to match).
