SC asks Centre to link all mobile numbers to Aadhaar within one year

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday directed Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government to register details of identity of every mobile user within a year.
The apex court said that there are over 100 crore mobile subscribers while making it mandatory for all mobile subscribers, including those having pre-paid SIM cards, to have their phone number linked to Aadhaar without fail within one year.
The court also directed the Centre to device a way so that each person with a pre-paid sim would have to fill and deposit a form whenever he or she recharges.

What Sh*t Is Going On 
The news item is misleading. Actually the SC hasnt directed it but the Central Govt. has said that it is likely to do for sim verification. There is difference between SC directing something and Centre saying it would do.

This is what I was wondering how can SC be involved in governance?

That’s SC’s new stand on Aadhaar, they are with Gov now.
i don’t even know how many sim cards I have. 
The court was hearing a case brought by Lokniti Foundation, a non-profit organisation, seeking a mechanism for effective verification of all mobile subscribers so that no fake or unverified phone number can be misused.
It also sought to make Aadhaar mandatory for such verification process.
No hopes, many PIL against Aadhaar but nothing is making a difference.
If they are doing this they should also make sure to provide information about the no of sims against ones aadahar card and provide a facility to cancel connections which the card holder doesn’t identify.
That’s the only motive to link them .
