Is there’s anyone who faced similar issue? If yes let me know, those who haven’t faced take care of your accounts and don’t keep any money in paytm as the same are not secure

I guess passing this FIR details to paytm, they should show a way out to refund your money.

You can ask Croma to cancel the orders and initiate refund.

Good luck. Wish u get refund soon. And its a lesson for us all.

Later when you are free please mention all details here about the case. These third party wallets are insecure esp non-banking e-wallets.

I am sure your info was leaked by some insider of Paytm and they cloned your mobile number for OTP, easier if its postpaid and say Reliance SIM.

Paytm must have Swift Action Team for frauds else nobody is going to park their funds in wallets. In fact if Paytm takes action in real time many of these frauds can be prevented.

No neither paytm nor croma has any swift acting team. They rather harassed me by not doing anything. The worst were croma people who not even provided me the order details against the order id provided by me. It was my sources that caught these thieves

It’s a good learning for me in terms of not putting huge amounts in wallets. I thought OTP security will be there so no need to worry.. but now i realize even that can be compromised. Did you get any info from the thieves on how they did the transaction without OTP during police investigation?

The same happened with me a week ago
But my money was less. It was only Rs. 839.0
I got a message on my phone that my transaction was successful on bigbasket. But i have not done any transactio, even i have not even signed up on big basket.
I contacted bigbasket and paytm both. Bigbasket refused to help as i have not any transaction id of big basket.
Finally i mailed on [email protected] and mentioned everything in that, but they have not replied in 2 days, then i quoted them on twitter.
Finally they replied to wait few more time and after checking everything they after total 4 days i got my money back.
Here i got an idea that there is a loop hole in paytm that it requires no OTP at the time of transactions on any site. And previously i kept the same password everywhere, so i think i had signed up on any site and they used the same password for my paytm account.
So now i use different password for all my wallets.

Keeping same password for all accounts is also a kind of loop hole to these fraudster

To my horror, those who were caught are three boys aged 18-19 years. The third one is minor. With our prompt action Delhi Police caught the thieves and recovered all items.
