any dimer here using solar power grid i want to know that is it good idea to install on grid power station

i was just planning 3kv on grid station so my electricity bill could be zero which will cost me around 1.3l as some vendor told me that it would recover cost of station within 4 years n life of setup is 25 years .
but is it true that this system has 25 years life
They are claiming that life of panel is 25 years. Don’t know how much true it is. For me anything above 4 years is bonus….
Yes. Actual rate after competitive bidding was around 50k/unit. Central govt. Is Giving 40% subsidary on it. Last year with subsidary rate was even below this (my relatives have installed it for around 85k for 3kw).
13 unit is average, in Gujarat majority of time u feel extreme heat & at that time it produces even 15 units which gets compensated with few monsoon & winter days. That’s why I wrote calculate as per ur own area.
My break even price is around 4 years, anything above that is bonus for me…
Hope the subsidy is upfront. Don’t accept if they say it will be paid on a later date to your account as I have heard stories about that not happening.
Any comparison between different brands ? Panels from which brand are considered best?
In my town, panels are available from these brands : Lubi, Jakson, Adani etc
I am planning to install 3KW and 5KW solar system on 2 of my locations.
Don’t know about brands but you should consider cost vs efficiency of mono and poly crystalline panels.

Ask them to give the brand and type of materials which will be used and share it here so dimers can give you their inputs. Mono solar panels are better than poly, is it an on-grid system or hybrid? Ask them the complete details even to the extent of the wires they would use and the support structure for the panels. Also have they done onsite inspection?
Also I am not completely sure about the subsidy part but many vendors have cheated saying the subsidy will come directly to bank and later on telling them their subsidy was not approved. So make sure about this and I would suggest upfront is better (had read something about approved vendors getting subsidy directly from the govt and the vendor would provide direct discount when they install).

I don’t exactly remember the details of my calculations but it’s definitely not a viable option unless you are into go green stuff.
Even after all those multiple accounts, multiple card amazon purchases to avail offers during diwali, it was not economical for me. I was just planning on a 1KW system (for my homelab setup) with Loom solar panel, 2 150AH batteries exide batteries, Luminous inverter +smarten mppt controller. I had done various calculations involving average solar irradiance (Bangalore) etc and it would take 4 years for the system to pay for itself (by then the battery would have to be replaced)
For an on-grid system the Electricity provider offers less rates and it would take 7-8 years for the system to pay for itself. This was from my cousin who had planned to install a 5KW system.
