Some Android Smartphones Had Pre-Installed Backdoor Malware

Google has confirmed that some Android devices had come with pre-installed backdoors right out of the box.

As first reported by the Russia-based cybersecurity provider Kaspersky Lab back in 2016, the malware, called Triada, was initially a Trojan that would obtain root privileges and display intrusive ads on a user’s phone.

The new, more elusive and sophisticated iteration of the virus was embedded into the source code of the system library on Android phones, according to Russian anti-malware company Doctor Web.

It became more dangerous as well, capable of “smuggling” various Trojan modules into the processes of any application; they could steal personal data from bank applications, or intercept correspondence on social media.

I know samsung has this shit cuz their size of pre installed bloatware is enormous!
This was the main reason why I stopped buying samsung.
P.S. Not an apple fan either but have you seen this repair man thats waging a war against apple? He’s getting really famous on youtube and elsewhere:D

Its not only samsung but many come with huge amounts of preinstalled bloatware that can not be disabled and removed, they use up 25% or more of the space. But I disabled most even if I cant free up the space. Some updates dont even give you a choice, they just install the update and then dont work since they are made for new samsung devices like working with their smart TV’s and stuff.. Actually got locked because that huge update ran out of memory and I could not do anything. Had to uninstall some of my other stuff and let it finish since the option to NOT update it is not there.

Dont know about repair man, but apple was always a closed system with users unable to make even minor changes. But some people like that. When my friend saw I had a wifi name he was amazed since he has no such options except some long cryptic connection. Good in a sense that no one knows its your phone.. bad in a sense if you have 10 people in the office you dont know which connection you want to make.. But he likes it being simple and unable to do much with his $1200 phone that looks great sitting on the desk..
