Do u have health insurance?
I suggest you take arogya sanjeevani policy from any insurance company
have u taken it mate ?
i have group insurance given by my company i am planning to convert it into induvidual polity once i leave my company apart from that i will take arogya sanjivini policy as a backup. this policy came recently on April. Still no company disclosed premium rates yet. waiting for that and i am planning to take soon after lockdown over.
Thanks for your genuine view
pm me
I have taken Bajaj Allianz as base policy for my family of four
Aged
43 years
39 years
10 years
8 years
For 50 lakhs base family floater premium is approx 44k including GST
And 50 lakhs family top up for approx 14k from ICICI Lombard
Sum assured looks High, but when the actual usage starts (at age 55-60) 1 cr won’t have much value
U took health insurance of sum assured 50 lacs?
Do have a look at star company.. They have good coverage of hospital and decent price…
I have few suggestions for you:
1. The premium amount depends on the oldest person in the family so try to get 2 different policies – one for you, your wife and child and second one for your parents.
This way your total premium amount will be lower than getting a single policy for 5 people.
You can also customize the sum assured for each policy.
2. Try to research some of the best Health insurance policy on following parameters since they are the ones that matter most:
(a). Settlement ratio – what % of claims were settled successfully (higher the better).
(b). Average settlement duration – How much time an average settlement takes(lower the better).
©. Number of network hospitals and Availability in your city – this is very important as you need to ensure network hospitals in your city are higher and easily accessible.
If they are a lot of network hospitals but very few in your city, it doesn’t make sense to go with that provider.
(d). Pre existing conditions – This clause might be important for your parents’ policy as this varies with providers. This basically means that insurance does not pay for hospitalizations which are caused by pre existing conditions such as Diabetes , BP etc for a fixed duration. Standard wait time is 2 years but in some policies it is as high as 4 years.Make sure you choose the one with lowest wait time for Pre existing conditions.
3.Based on above criteria, create a list of top 2 or 3(max) providers and visit their website or Contact them by call or email and ask for a quote based on your requirements. clarify all questions and doubts before payment and signing policy document. Read the policy TnC carefully. Make sure what is included and excluded.
I chose a policy for my parents last year after much research. There are many other points to look for but it’s 3 AM and i can’t think of any more right now , will add more if i think of it.
Which one u went for ?
Go with govt insurance like Oriental and new India assurance . They have good coverage and claim settlement ratio than private insurance cos .
@iamshashikant
Went with Royal Sundaram considering all the criteria i mentioned. But this is subjective so everyone should do their own research.
Royal Sundaram have too low premium . Good atleast you opted , actually i still not bought it. Have u bought through DBS Bank app? How about their services? Saw that they have low claim ratio and claim settlement ratio. Plse Don’t get offended
I finalised manipalcigna plus plan.
U can compare it with ur choise also.
can u give detail which plan u bought?
@AnGeK007 go with Oriental Insurance and don’t take from private , I once took a claim around 4-5 years ago and it was very smooth. Their premium are also less compared to Private and from the last 2 years I thought many times to port my policy to private but after research I always drop the idea.
Their family policy premium is like – full cost for highest 2 age people , for 3rd person it is 50% discount and then from 4th onward it is 60% discount. I am providing you link , in that just scroll to 2nd bottom page and calculate premium first.
