A bit difficult to configure but the best free option: OBS Studio
Btw don’t use win 7 anymore as its support is ending on 14th jan 2020,at least upgrade to win 8.1 & use classic shell/open shell to make it look close to win 7 if don’t want to install win 10.

Yes, OBS is the best, search on YouTube for configuring it..
otherwise for a simpler recorder you can try CamStudio..

OBS very diffcult to cofig, actually i wanna record online classes, without giving intimation to my lecturer, sometimes he asks the students randomly to share their screen. so i need to record secretly.

can having dual monitor/ split screen not work?
or as someone above says, using external camera (audio can obviously be captured via aux out or something)
are the teachers smart, savvy?
some softwares are designed to not show in any status or task bar, but can be seen in task manager.
if teachers don’t go to that length.
use such stealthy ones.
