[SUGGESTION] Girls P.G in Hinjewadi, Phase 3 - Pune.

@neu.dimer though not in touch with things around there off late.
I do recollect seeing many apartment block rentals or P.G. type acco. around Wakad area.
[we have disposed off the property we had in Wakad but am fairly acquainted with that area
so can tell that it is safe and okay area to be in.. with movement even past 2300 hours]

sorry no pinpoint direct references for working women’s hostels or PG
one thing i can tell is that, depending on her comfort of commute timings and availability of employer provided transport
[scheduled bus services on various routes]
if she gets good roomies with similar schedules, temperament
then renting an acco. for oneself isn’t a bad idea [cooks, domestic help requires one’s own efforts unlike in PG or hostel]

I’ve even have/had my acquaintances travel from Warje , Wakad and Baner to their office in Hinjewadi (Phase 2), but it will add that much more commute times to and fro.

Having stayed in Baner for two years (before it went all turbo) till 2002, I can vouch for that area yoo as being fairly cosmo and closer to other city amenities.

You can try wakad, hinjewadi isn’t that safe for girls although there are a lot of PGs.

Try to find shared flats in wakad, pimple saudagar, vishal nagar. Good locality office shuttles are available easily.

Check magic bricks or other portals you will get shared flats easily. Avoid hinjewadi or keep it as your last option.

Phase 3 is the end you wont find anything there. Better to avoid it.

Can you plz elaborate why it isnt safe in hinjewadi ?

i live in Koregaon Park, which is far from Hinjewadi, but a few of my friends live there (in Megapolis, behind TCS in Phase 3 and another behind Persistent office phase 1) and i have been to there place quite a few times.

I would say that it’s better to rent a flat with friends (if it’s possible) bcoz pg’s are very restrictive in many ways, food, space and timing.

Although they are easily available in phase 1, their conditions are not so good, u will see about 6 people living in a 2bhk, average rate will be 2.5k-4k (only for living, wifi, electricity and fooding xtra) depending on distance from main road and services offered.

Farzi bhai mentioned in above post that Hinjewadi is not a safe place, well, most of the IT crowd of Pune is there itself, but the thing is in Phase 3 and others, the place is not exactly like a market or full of societies and people.
Although they do have big societies, but then there’s vast open areas/ mostly deserted empty lands as well, which in simplified can be said as u won’t get a proper market there in the locality, IMO it’s more like living in a good and guarded society and then if u need to go for shopping for anything, u will need to go atleast 10kms from there.

On the other side, Pimple saudagar/Nilakh/Vishal Nagar, these areas are quite developed and purely residential areas with proper societies having departmental stores and other required amenities in walkable distance, that’s a better place to stay.
If cab service is provided by the company then it’s quite good for her.

@stp321 has put it perfectly. Like to add that addition to that pune has a unique bus aggrigation service for hinjewadi where common buses run for all companies. So doesnt matter if not staying close to office. Ideally find a place close to some relatives to friends family. once she settles down can find closer accomodation.
1 thing I would insist is bring in her scooter. Public transport is pathetic and riskshaw is very expensive due to distances unlike other Indian cities.

share it with 2 friends. it will be economical.
these projects are big townships and good amenities…

And about Hinjewadi PGs, I don’t know much, but if you want to search for sharing flats for girls, then you can easily find it through multiple FB groups of names similar to PUNE FLATMATES.

the fb group and nestaway might also be of help,

and like @dharmanath481 sir said, it’s better to live for initial couple weeks or months with relatives and figure out a better location to live with what she can afford and what she’s comfortable with, than getting a under-serviced and bad PG.

Local transport is not cheap here, autorickshaw people don’t always agree with meter based fare in the day as well, leave alone the evening and night time. Buses are not so frequently to-for Hinjewadi Phase 3, although the buses start from the chouk itself, they are hourly (afaik).

Now HIA have their own shuttle and they are damm good, Metrozip monthly fare is approximately 1800 from pimple saudagar.
