From the last 4-5 months, I was using Lyf phone as hotspot but yesterday I sold my phone.

Now, what options do I have to make Jio hotspot at home.

Should I buy Jio Hotspot or Unlocked Airtel Hotspot device?

Since I own multiple Jio Sims, if possible, pls suggest multiple sim supported device..

Currently I think Jio-fi is cheapest. I am looking to replace the dreaded Lyf phone myself. But range won’t be more than 10m I guess, if you need more range invest in a router/repeater in conjunction with the Jio-fi device.

Why don’t you buy a 4g capable phone with custom rom support. that would be better I guess, in my opinion

How is: http://www.amazon.in/AIRTEL-HUAWEI-4G-DATA-CARD...

The seller hasn’t mentioned the model. If it’s this model http://www.ebay.in/itm/Brand-New-Huawei-E-5573-...
then it has two bands relevant to Rjio 1800 and 2300 but no 850(useful only in areas where Rjio is not available and relies in RCom for 4G network)

Thanks fr the info…
I think, its better to buy Jio Fi…

Can I use multiple SIM in Jio Fi?

You mean different sims—Yes.
On olx you can find many used but in excellent condition airtel hotspots.

This might be more useful if you gonna jio only for data. Better range, 24×7 usage since it’s not battery powered, also the router has inbuilt adsl modem, so bsnl or airtel broadband will work. If you patch with a range extender. You will have a permanent soluion for your home or small office internet needs …

Inside home, I get 850 or 1800
Outside home or terrace, I get 2300

Should I go with Airtel or Jio Fi, since price range is same for both?

You can go for either of them. Jio-fi doesn’t have a sd card slot(if that matters) and is locked. Airtel is unlocked means you can use it with either of them and has 2G+3G bands too(important).

Jiofi does have a microsd card slot. Also are you sure about the locking part, till now I haven’t seen anybody try to use other Sims in the jiofi devices?

Yes it’s locked for sure and since it’s not just an OEM that any other company uses there is no unlocking method as of yet.
