Don’t you think a 2.5 foot teddy bear is a bit too large for a 9 month old girl? It’ll probably be as big as her and she might feel intimidated by it. Plus, there’s the additional risk of suffocation if you keep it on the bed when she’s sleeping (though a 9m old would probably be able to push it off/turn away from it) (EDIT: Here they say wait for the baby to be a year old: http://www.babycenter.com/404_when-can-my-baby-...)
I couldn’t find any deal at the moment. Periodically Flipkart (& Amazon, sometimes) offers 70% off on stuffed toys, so if you can wait I suggest you buy it then
The biggest problem I’ve seen with most of the larger teddy bears is that they don’t look nice. And the ones that do look nice are very expensive. The smaller bears look much cuter.
If you want something that does look cute (I don’t have it but you can have a look at the photo that someone has put up) try this: http://www.amazon.in/Tickles-Mother-Elephant-Ba... (or this one: http://www.amazon.in/Tickles-Mother-Elehant-Stu...)Regarding offline stores: I’ve found Hallmark has some really nice looking bears. I bought one, for myself, a long time ago and every friend of mine has liked it and wanted one like it
Thanks for your detailed post.
Yes. As u said, the teddy is as big as her.
Last week we went to one of the relatives home, there is a 3 feet teddy which is bigger than her and she liked it and so much happy with it.
So thought of buying one. Thanks for your suggestions.
Toddlers these days are a bit sensitive and allergic to dust/fur etc. so I suggest you wait before you hand over a teddy bear to your baby girl.
Even when you decide to get one I suggest you to avoid getting it online. Go to a store, inspect the look and quality and then get it.
Children at a very young age get too attached to their first soft toy, seen it happen with my 3 of my nieces so make sure you get a good one for them.
