The Sun can be extremely brutal to your skin; hyper pigmentation, tanning, skin aging and skin Cancer are just a few on the list of many. Considering how Ultra Violet rays have been damaging our skin more so over the last decade, a sunscreen might be a very small price for preserving your skin. Therefore, a skin care routine incorporating the right Sunscreen can help you and your skin fair and fight better against the ravages of the Sun.

Today we bring you the best Sunscreens to halt Sun damage, that suit your skin and your needs!

But first, let’s first understand your skin. With varying ingredients, prices and benefits, it’s a bit difficult to pick just the perfect Sunscreen for you. You can first start with finding out what you truly need in a Sunscreen.

Sun Protection Factor (SPF) :

You must have come across the abbreviation SPF many times. The term stands for Sun Protection Factor. As the name suggests, the SPF is most suitable to fight the harmful radiation of the Sun and directly protects your skin. The higher the SPF, the better it’s Sun protection. Thus, if you’re someone that spends excruciating hours under the Sun, your Sunscreen ought to have a stronger and higher SPF and vice-versa.

If you spend over 2 to 3 hours out in the Sun, and SPF of 40+ is a sufficient amount.
On a normal day with less exposure to sunlight, an SPF of around 30 is good enough to keep you protected.
On a rainy day (yes you need a Sunscreen on a rainy day too!), a Sunscreen with an SPF 15 shall serve you well.

Understanding the suitability of a Sunscreen to your skin :

Your skin is extremely special and different from others. What works well for someone may not work for you. Here’s a little guide to what kind of texture your Sunscreen formula should have according to your skin type :

Oil Skin: Mattifying Sunscreens suit oily skin textures best. By mattifying we mean a texture that keeps your skin matte and dry. Gel like consistencies ensure your skin always stays matte.
Dry Skin: Since dry skin tends to lose moisture quickly, a moisturizing Sunscreen can prevent your skin from drying out more that it should.
Combination Skin: If your skin is dry and some places and oily at others, mixing two sunscreens each for both areas is a good choice.
Normal Skin: For a skin that is neither too oily or too dry, Sunscreen suitable for all skin types would work well on your skin.
Sensitive Skin: In case your skin is extremely sensitive to trying out new products with ingredients that may be allergic to your skin, always do a little patch test before attempting to put a huge blob on the entirety of your face.
Now that you’ve understood the SPF requirement and your skin type, we can begin with the best Sunscreens available for you in the market right now.

It depends from brand to brand but for standard brands it definitely makes a difference over a prolonged use. So its important to identify the spf value as per the climate and skin type smile
