Tata Sky DTH - Fraud regarding visiting charges

The problem is that after every few days the reception goes away (due to dish antenna problem).

When I call customer care, they say that they will take visiting charges/fees even if the problem is with their antenna, no fault of mine. I am pissed because why should I pay visiting charges after every few days due to THEIR issue?

Can I reach out to some senior Tata Sky official for this? These stupid people are getting my BP high.

Contact local service and get it repaired. Tata sky officials also won’t help much. Tata sky higher official details https://www.tatasky.com/wps/portal/TataSky/help...

I know tech’s will not do a good job on purpose to get repair charges later on. It is the same in cars and electronics and even building and plumbing.. Why it is important to get reputable ones to do the job even if they cost a lot more.

They have done undercover work in many areas to find this and it is most noticeable in car mechanics as so many parts can go wrong and no way for you to easily find out the fault. I went for an oil change and on the way back I noticed the clutch pedal was way higher.. And soon developed into major problems with slipping.. When I took it back they said it needs to be replaced.. I drove this car since new and has 40K on it. How can the clutch go bad? Even though I could drive the car no one else could so paid the 10K to get it fixed.. Then the AC started leaking.. They would not fix the leak and wanted to replace the entire thing.. But this time I was no as easily fooled and took it to a local place we knew.. They said yea there is a leak and fixed it for 1000 even though they asked for 2000 upfront.. I think they found out it was a purposely caused leak and decided to just repair it knowing that and charging half what they asked.. Which means they also knew the trick and that its done on purpose…

I have installed dish myself.. Mostly because I could not get a tech to come out and do it.. It has to be sturdy since the wind will pull it out of alignment.. But as long as its screwed in properly to the mounting wall, the rest are not shaken so easily.. Its made to move easily but the screws can be tightened knowing there is wind shear on it and pull it out of alignment.. You can take a players and screw drive rand tighten the bolts and screws yourself.. Aligning it does require a meter for signal strength but once thats dont just tighten it up and it will stay there. Heck pour superglue or cement to stick ti in place..

Wow, thanks for a detailed wonderful reply, although somewhat tangent.

Reading your comments reminded me of Robert Persig of Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. You sound similar to the main character of that book.
