Thank you Dimers for making the most of the festival with DesiDime....
Hello Dimers,
One of the biggest sale of the year just came to a close… Thank you very much Dimers for trusting DesiDime in the sale season for your shopping needs!!
We handled record peak traffic on 2nd October midnight on Desktop website, Mobile website and Desidime Mobile App… And we managed to stay up when it mattered the most. Many thanks to our awesome co-workers (Content Team, Engineers, Product guys etc.. who were all working behind the scenes) to make this happen. We had some uptime issues on 1st October and 6th Oct and we have taken the lessons from it.
With over 550% jump in our traffic during sale season… Some of the best Deal hunters were sharing deals at speed of light… and every Dimer made the most out of the sale, thanks to the amazing DesiDime community…..
Special thanks to Channel owners for sending the very best deals (even at night) and delivering around 4 Lakh Instant deal alerts via SMS to thousands of Dimers..
We would love to hear from you how was your experience shopping with Desidime in the sale season.. Please do share your expereince with us
- What all did you bought and which stores?
- How did you find the best deals – FPD on home page or Channel Alerts or WhatsApp alerts or browsing hot deals forum or festival pages which we had designed?

These items are always present as good deals in one form or the other.

Purchases (redacted list for privacy reasons):
Snapdeal: LEDs, bathroom fittings, fans, nutritional supplements, a couple of kitchen appliances, and many other household items. Snapdeal had 15-20% discount promotion running on these categories so I got never-before prices on most of the items after the Citi 20% discount.
Amazon: RBL and some other gift cards (ordered a lot of GCs!) and some household items. Had they been offering an instant bank discount like Snapdeal and Flipkart, rather than cashback after 3-months from HDFC, Amazon would have been my primary site of choice for many other items.
Flipkart: Nothing.
Shopclues: Ticket gift cards to utilize the bank-specific promotions — still ordering as the cards become available.
Most common way I discovered good deals on DD in the order of significance:
(1) Channel alerts
(2) My bookmarked page which shows the list of recent topics
(3) FPDs, i.e. the home page
Feedback on the experience at DD during this sale:
First of all, I would like to express my gratitude towards the admins and mods for (A) quickly promoting good deals at all times of the day, and (B) providing a stable platform (technically) which didn’t crumble under the heavy load. I noticed a vast improvement in these two things as compared to the big sale days during earlier years.
As for my suggestions on what could be improved, I believe I have already tagged you in other threads recently and don’t think it’s necessary to highlight those things here again.

Actually, they increased the shipping to 60 on the last 2-days of the sale. But it was 45 or 60 for the whole order regardless of how many cards you include in a single order. Apart from the 1K card being sold at 10% discount, the 5K cards were also available at 5% discount, i.e. the shipping cost became insignificant as your order value increased.
