A security vulnerability in the newest generation of ATMs can be exploited to make them distribute tens of thousands in cash, despite the chip and PIN systems designed to prevent hackers from carrying out exactly this sort of activity.
Speaking at the Black Hat conference in Las Vegas, Weston Hecker, a senior security consultant at cybersecurity firm Rapid7 demonstrated how the bypass could allow criminals to make off with up to $50,000 from a machine in under 15 minutes.

While it’s unlikely that a hacker would be able to use a spoofed card for a significant period of time — there’s only a limited window they could spent at an ATM and the victim will eventually realize they’ve been targeted — the relative ease by which criminals can deploy this method of attack means it could be a very lucrative outlet for them.
Security researchers at Rapid7 have disclosed full details about the vulnerability in chip-and-PIN ATMs to the major machine makers and banks, although they haven’t detailed which these are in order not to put additional people at risk of the fraud.

So best option is not to use debit card linked with your primary account at all.
yup but bestest option is not to have primary debit card itself

May be if I apply in a different branch, but for address SBI gave me a KYC and that has my Aadhar number and all in it, which led me to think that may be it won’t be possible…

see being helpful >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> being critic v;-}
he doesn’t have a primary acct itself, he’s all in cash
My method is more secure. The account that has lakhs in balance has no debit card but Netbanking is there. Whenever needed I transfer to the other bank account which has very low or no balance at all. It has debit card.
For those who have HDFC/ICICI demat can block funds by transferring them to demat account. It takes seconds to allocate and de-allocate. If ur demat provider is not the bank itself then you will have tfr funds to it just like you do for any wallet provider by loading funds into it.

But in that case you won’t be able to use online fund transfer as well in case of banks like ICICI. Will have to rely only on cheques.

Won’t work in case of ICICI as it is mandatory to complete debit card grid verification as well for funds transfer.
One person one saving account one branch is rule
But after core banking it should be applicable to whole bank. (In one capacity).
However, additional joint account , current account, guardian account allowed. Another option is to avail overdraft of 30k against the FD of 40k and obtain CA overdraft with in joint name and use that account for POS .
