This 21 days lock down will seem to be a cakewalk for some, but it’s a very bad period in life for some, my dad has a small business which is on the verge of shutting down as the labour has gone to their village, even paying rent is getting very difficult, and there is no income I am also not settled yet government is doing so much for the poor but there should be some provision like rent relaxation for 1 month atleast, my dad is also stressed I am very sad we have no house of our own we have to pay rent and it gets difficult to pay for rent every month, our savings is not much, and the landlord comes every 1st day of the month to collect rent no business no home very less food no good savings I am from a lower middle class family

Would telling my situation make you feel any better? Well your dad’s business is on the verge of shutting down, whereas mine shut down three years back. Court cases ongoing to get it back, and knowing Indian judiciary it takes lifetime for even small matters to be resolved, and now due to this corona the courts are closed indefinitely. I have zero income. I am living with my mum’s 7.5k monthly pension. Somehow managing basic foods, that’s it. Cancelled all medical insurances, ZERO SAVINGS in bank. Need I go on?
There is always someone worse, much worse than yours. Someone told me that long back. I hated that guy (still do) for saying something like that. Because if you keep comparing yourself with the worse then there is no bottom, it’s a bottomless pit. However, I do not think you are in a position to give up just yet. So stay strong.
And if there is anyone for whom this 21-day lockdown is a cakewalk, should visit a fucking psychiatrist at once.
Hmm but for many it’s actually a cakewalk see the celebs or even those with jobs working from home and they upload videos like enjoying stay at home etc. etc. I know it’s a bad time but government should think of other than bpl families, landlord is so rich even if they relax 1 month rent it could be a good help for some money is the only humanity

Government cannot legally ask home owners to waiver the rent.
But you can ask for half month payment atleast since the shutdown happened only this week and test your luck with the owner.
He won’t get any new tenants at this point anyway.

I am in same shoes, cc bill, EMIs, rent all nearing and I got no business this month. Asking relaxation to the owner is all in vein, he says he is all dependent on the rent I gave him, he is right from his end and I see no hope already….lockdown was only hope as I can see cases are increasing day after day no good news of any kind. 2020 is worst for majority of them. Rich ones are sitting at home blaming the poor for the spread as they don’t have to run for essentials but we do. I wish we had some real life superheroes to get us through this inevitable rallies of worries.
Brother, someday some luck wil struck. Till that live in hope.

As usual…always middle class is affected….middle class ppl pay taxs correctly else they come around ous for very small issues too and give that too poor and this cycle repeats even now….
Ur saying you can pay rents due to shutting down your business but in my family case, we cant pay EMIs or pay for other things if our tenants don’t pay rent for ous…. bz both the side same middle class ppl are there….so think the other side too
still no announcement by banks, on memoratum. getting msg to pay emi on 2nd, or have to incur bounce charges.
also checked my mom’s acct, no 500rs,no dbt there

Same here brother,, have to pay salary to 4 labours… Have to pay home loan EMI and Credit card bill… Shop is closed… No earning source for now.. Saving can last for 2 months only. However i don’t think this issue is gonna over soon.. Coronavirus is here to stay for atleast 2-3 months,, and things will take at least 11-12 months to get normal
