Today iam going to tell you about the disadvantage or loss about taking free web hosting….

You might not be aware but its important for webmasters who own sites.

You might have seen that generally people create threads here regarding free web hosting for 1 year or 6 months ,
there was also a scheme from WHDMS free hosting..

Beware https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_evil.gif they have vulnerabilities , they have low or even lowest security …
Today when i was just trying to open my site then see what i saw …
https://cdn0.desidime.com/attachments/photos/335949/medium/2924480bahane.png?1480995551
and this happened with my 2 sites ….

For security reasons i have hidden my sitename (dont ever ask me via pm )

SO FRIENDS IT WAS JUST FOR UR AWARENESS , JUST GO WITH GODADDY OR bigrock ! spend some bucks around 1400 rs. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif
And dont go with free because if u think ur website is safe then it can be attacked anytime ..

Thnkzz

Hi @hackerboys

Hacking isn’t only because of the server type but also because of the code & scripts which we use.
I’m a Web Developer who worked for e-commerce company, so I know things related to hosting & security.
Let me tell you some cases I experienced recently.

My Brother-In-Law has hosting at Godaddy.com, he got the website developed in WordPress which got hacked a lot of times after continuous clearing of files.

I’ve hosting at hostgator India which is shared with my friend, which is also hacked when my friend loaded some open source script.

I totally disagree with you @hackerboys
From choosing free webhosting doesn’t leads to hacking of ur site. Hosting providers do their best and will provide the best service.

You’re saying that your site has beeen hacked.
There might be Two reasons:-
1.If you keep Weak or Default Passwords your site will get hacked(For this Keep a strong Password)
2.Choosing of wordpress theme or plugins or other frameworks properly.

I am with free Webhosting from past 2 years My site didn’t got hacked https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_biggrin.gif @hackerboys

@hackerboys For your information: ( as you giving a cause you should give its cure too https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_wink.gif )
Essential tips to protect your website:

  • Never store credentials, like your FTP password, on your local PC.
  • Use strong passwords and try to set up difficult-to-guess usernames (such as “av21bx” instead of “Alex”).
  • If you use FTP, consider switching to a more secure solution, like ssh/SCP/SFTP.
  • Make sure to check your website frequently for web application vulnerabilities and malicious code. Vigilance can protect your visitors.
  • Install only reputable plugins. Make a list of all third party plugins you use, and be sure to update them regularly. Both the software you use to run your website and all your plugins should be kept current!
  • Set appropriate file permissions on your web server.
  • Make sure you regularly scan your local PC with at least one, and preferably more than one, antivirus engine. Antivirus software for your PC won’t detect website infections, but using an infected local machine can cause a website to become infected, so it’s important to protect your PC, too!

If you have taken care of all the above points , you can point a finger at a web-host. By the way Pointing to your suggestion , I can give you right away 1000s of domains hosted in Go-daddy got hacked [ check it here : http://www.blogtips.org/godaddy-hacked-again-an... ].

I am writing the long review, as I believe Desidime is for deals, offers, discount coupon codes, freebies and compare prices. Its not a complain board. SO for your issue you have to either contact your web-host or to find a better complain board mate.

Hi @hackerboys

Can your check the logs in your hosting, so that you’ll get to know how hacker accessed your system like through a file or through a Port, so we can understand the root cause.

Forgot to say in earlier post even the sites hosted in India’s Only Tier 4 Certified Data Center & sites hosted in PAID AWS services also got hacked, does that mean these companies charging three times more than the companies mentioned by you compromised in taking security measures.

@hackerboys
I have also one account with http://www.WHD...om . After seeing your post, I personally telephoned their support with your posting link regarding security concerns.

What they mentioned is:
Your website, thed##hi###ge.co.in got hacked as you uploaded vulnerability scripts.

Use this following site to check your website
https://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/www.thed##...

Moreover, WHDMS.com mentioned, they personally telephoned to the site owner to discuss. Web site owner mentioned, he will get back to them.

If you require backup or any logs, why it happened, as per WHDMS.com you can raise a support ticket and check each log.

I am using WHDMS.com services from September 2015 till now I didn’t find any issue. Their support is awesome.

Thanks to DesiDime for suggesting me a best deal. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

I’m using hostgator for wordpress hosting which cost $280 for 2 years plan and I renewed it for $56 (3800rs) during the sale offer.

No hiccups/slowdowns and no cdn management required from your end. They manage and even update plugins etc automatically. If you’re a blog owner and your unique traffic is above 100,000 everymonth, get yourself wordpress hosting rather than shared webserver hosting services.

Contact with whdms.com support team to know what happened? Instead of knowing root cause if we discuss there will be no solution.

Hi @hackerboys ,

Lets stop the discussion here, seems you’re more interested in pointing someone than finding the reason for the issue.
