guys,
want a best priced dth with HD (no need of recording or 4k) with a package having
- all english movies (star movies, action, hbo, wb, romedy, tcm etc)
- all english entertainment (starworld, zeecafe, axn, infinity etc)
- all educational (discovery, ngc, history etc)
- food & living (tlc, goodtimes, foxlife, food food etc)
others are immaterial (sports, music, hindi, news, regional etc).
quick check shows most operators want us to susbscribe to their mega/ultra/maximum/highest priced package to avail these english channels. lowest offers for annual subscription will be 6.5-8k
looking for a deal in 4.5k range (+500) for annual subscription covering all the english channels..
anyone has analysed this? what is the best recco? do suggest

If you can live without HD look into this

If you don’t want to opt for the mega packs then there are 3 approaches you can go for
1) Pick by channel (i.e. select channels on an a-la-carte basis) OR
2) Choose a base pack like My99 (in Tatasky; others also have something similar) and add just the add-on packs that you need (English movies, English entertainment, etc) OR
3) If you don’t want all the channels in the group, choose the lowest priced pack that allows you a-la-carte channels and just add the channels that you need
Each operator has different rules so you’ll have to do some amount of research on your own
@dealshunter If you can compromise a lil bit on quality of signals i will suggest you to look out for MSO.

It will be cheaper as compared to all other combinations.
Or look for à la carte as suggested by Deal Legend @sbdtrial .
I’m guessing you could subscribe to a-la-carte pack from videocon d2h. All you need is to select the channels you are interested in and you’ll be charged only for those (ofc. min 171/- per month is applicable).

Try selecting the channels to see how much you need to pay. There is no extra HD access fee or any such if you opt for a-la-carte
