Friends, I have to buy a RO for office and I am looking for a good brand which gives good quality water and filtration and also is low in maintenance as well as cost of cartridges/membranes. Budget is around 10k.

Please can you suggest some good option?

Many thanks in advance.

Don’t go for brand. Buy from local dealer.

Avoid Aqua guard. Maintenance costs is high. I am currently using local brand and it is good.

@ strange333

Mention city,
municipal tap water /borewell water
Number of people in office.

There are over 7 models of each company to address different needs of different areas based on input quality of water.

If water is bad straight buy a hot and cold dispenser cooler and top it with 20 ltr water jar daily or once in 2 days (the dealer would give door step delivery.

Thumb rule. The number of stages increase based on harder the water which exponentially increases the maintainance cost.

TDS value of normal water in my area is 400, is it too high or normal? i have fixed TDS value 75 of filter, is it okay?

TDS is the wrong parameter. TDS 400 is actually tasty. Zero tds is bad for health.

Reason for asking City was pre treatment of water by municipal corporation but you don’t want to disclose fine.

Best is get water tested then approach the purifier company.

300 tds is fine
don’t fall prey to the sales agent
do your research about TDS and water health

Yes scrubber system filtration can get you zero tds but it doesn’t take out other impurities to make it safe for drinking. Even the 7 stage ro system can get you zero tds on meter reading without the mineral cartridge.

None of the home purifies would work you are probable in a a commercial building. So contact blue star and take their suggestion.

Employees would be brining their own water bottles from home so no value addition with a home purifier which would require bi-monthly cartridge replacement .

Get a hot / cold dispenser enabled system so people can make their own tea and coffee which will boost productivity.

Slow dispenser means you give people reason to gather around the water hole for gossip

If water is from bmc then there are good chances it’s already treated with reverse osmosis. You can go to their website or call customer care to confirm.
Buy a tds meter from Amazon and check your tds levels.
Both WHO and National green tribunal don’t recommend RO for water under 500tds atleast according to news18.
NGT has also suggested ban on ro in areas with tds levels lower than 500.
Thats probably why you had UV purifier earlier which should be enough.
You must check tds levels before changing to RO..
Treating already filtered water with low tds would bring tds levels to very unhealthy levels as it tends to filter out essential minerals too.

You are giving small small info in peace meal way so cannot fathom the correct scenario.

You should have mentioned you already have a system in place but instead of ’I want to replace" you write “I want to buy” in your first post.

Which RO is good with less maintaince cost? We use underground borewell hard water so RO is necessary. Currently using eureka but they loot. 1 yr maintainance cost is almost 5K while their entire machine cost 15K

Similar requirements here but ours is a factory and in need of good RO and/or UV filter.

The water used is already processed and is generally hard with TDS of around 500. I bought a generic filter system from Amazon for 6.5k and installed but within a week, filter is not working with water coming out in drops. Even though, it is under warranty, the seller requested me to repair it locally as he is based in Mumbai and am in Tamil Nadu.

Had bought 50 LPH Cool water dispenser along with filter. Now the dispenser is lying idle as workers are reluctant to use water stating TDS should be less than 50!. Looking for cartridge and/or filter to fix above the dispenser. Tried locally but was not satisfied.

Dont waste my time

Depends on how many litres of water will be filtered. For an average all adult 3-membered family an RO purifier filter and assorted charges should not cost you more than 3-4k per year if the machine is used once per day.

I won’t advice any company at all. They all are here to cheat us. The components they sell in the name of different filters are exorbitantly priced. Just go for whichever company has the best after sales support in your area.
