Bad news for us as they are forced to maintain the offline-online price comparison and have to stop offering deep discounts now.

E-commerce entities providing marketplace will not directly or indirectly influence the sale price of goods or services and shall maintain level playing field,” according to a note released on Tuesday by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP).

The new regulations mean that Flipkart and Amazon India may have to find new seller entities on their platforms.

we do not need discount, let them keep nominal price for everything…. unlike paytm give discounts in the form of cashback where it is equal to Amazon or flipkart price

The rules does not cover discounts by the way of cask backs either in wallet or through third party credit card/banks. So there may be an increase in the cash back offers with increase in upfront prices.
