Since corona outbreak, many people have said that we should boycott chinese products.
#boycottchina is trending on social media.

There is risk of getting the virus if you go outside or if you order online.
From 20th April, lockdown will be relaxed in some areas and people will be allowed buy products.
Personally I m avoiding all things except medicines.

Define chinese products please. Most of the world population uses/owns something that is manufactured in China. Won’t change anytime soon.

Made in China, Product of China or sometimes Made in PRC is a country of origin label affixed to products manufactured in the People’s Republic of China.

Not possible to boycott all Chinese products…Even your remote’s battery cells are manufactured in China…Whatever electronic items you may use in your home, has some part made in China…Even if you boycott Mi, Honor, Oppo, Vivo, One+ etc & buy Samsung, Sony, LG etc, the chargers & batteries they will come with will mostly be made in China…

In short, No you can’t get rid of China or Chinese products…

That means china will be the next superpower.
China supplies electronics, medicines, surgery kits and numerous things to many nations and they are forced to use it, right?
Because no one does it better than china..not even India or USA.

Many countries may follow such moves.
What possibly India can benefit from this situation, such instances may not come again.
how this is helping MII products? Opportunity missed already.?

I always laughed at the Chinese companies and the users those who use it, I pity them. Some are confused what’s Chinese products after this long, really? When we say Chinese products, we mean a company which is Chinese, example Ximi, OnePlus, Lenovo, Oppo and all other small meme company phones.

Assembled in China or Manufactured in China aren’t same, Samsung and Apple, along with thousand other companies use their labour for the the assembly/ manufacturing of their products, solely because they are the cheapest labour in the world. But the quality control requirements is always set by the company, that’s the most important thing. Anyone would prefer to use the cheapest labour available even i would. This doesn’t change the origin of a company.

The pathetic mindset of Indians is never going to change. Remember before all these Ximi and Oneplus came along, Indians used to use the Fly, Bird etc. mobiles? Our inclination towards using garbage is in our DNA.

The entirety of the abovesaid has absolutely no relation with the ongoing corona situation.

Yes, but how India can take benefit of this situation?
Don’t you think its time India should join the battleground of competition.
All world is hating china.
This is the time India can become more self-dependent, by giving more opportunities to Indian people.

Title Should Be – Would Govt Of India ban or boycott Chinese products rolleyes

Momentum is there, I hope it gets converted into action on ground now.

It takes lots of genuine support from government and hundreds of crores of investment if you want to stop relying on Chinese imports. All difficult in a country like India that’s filled with corruption. In fact, getting 24×7 power supply for industries in itself a dream and not to mention delayed tax refunds and harassment at various levels to operate an industry. Each government official is bothered about filling his pockets and not to aid for ease of operation for industries.

Unless you are filthy rich, most people are even afraid to consider starting a new industry in India. So banning Chinese imports and promoting make in India is a namesake and unviable operation unless government has the will to do it.

Funniest part is that government PSUs are itself afraid to opt for Indian manufacture supplied items even after pushing make in India initiative everywhere. They go ga ga over it and say they have special consideration for make in India companies etc but never show that in action.

Those people who are trending #boycottchina are forgetting the fact, that India ko medicine, medical equipments etc China se hi import karna padh raha hain…Even when China will make the vaccine (they have already made it but when they will announce that, they have it ready), India will again have to depend on China only for the vaccines…

So how are you going to boycott China because if people who are protesting to boycott China themselves get tested positive (I hope not), they will have to be given the vaccine made in China…This is same for US & other countries too & imagine Trump who never bowed down to China will have to request China to send them vaccines…China wanted to do the maximum damage to US & they have been totally successful in that mission as most number of deaths have already been reported in the US…

China has made everything in their favor…You will HAVE TO take help from them even if you don’t want to…

Indian govt probably will never ban china.
But people can choose what they want to buy and what not to buy.
People’s choice and actions can change the scenario.
I am not against china, I am saying India should use this situation to improve our conditions.

Red-Tapeism

Best fabric is available in India. I think the topmost quality cotton stuff is produced in region near Madurai. Yet, we are just the suppliers of raw mateiral .

And the situation has worsened under BJP government. Actual number of licences required have increase manifold.

I will consciously try to avoid MIC product whenever possible (i.e. if an alternative is available)
And i will actively reduce business with China and shift it to Taiwan/Vietnam/India and other countries. But the changes will be gradual at individual levels.

What was the need for government to import Bronze for statue of Unity from China? It is the government that is most stupid in its extravaganza. I am sure all the furnishings and stuff for central vista project will be imported from China. Government has the ability and means to reduce its dependency on China, But then as an alternative our present day government will choose incompetent shady companies from Gujarat at every step.

There must be at least one field or sector in which India can do better than china.
But due to dominance of china products all over the world, we may not have tried to do so.
For alternatives to come in picture, India must identify such areas, more opportunities must be given in such sectors so that we can come ahead in the competition.

IMO Patriotism is a stupid concept. Buying indigenous products doesn’t make one a patriot.

I consider 4 things to spend money on something. (in the same order).

  1. Quality
  2. Durability
  3. Affordability
  4. After Sale Support
One will buy Indian products only when Indian Companies make products on par with world standards in these 4 categories.

Quality, durability etc is rendered useless if there is no ‘Availability’. That’s only possible if sanctions are imposed on China by multiple governments which seems unlikely…
Canon has moved majority of its production back to Japan sometime back & it is still competitive. I wonder what’s stopping other companies in the world & India….
