Xiaomi always intentionally cripples the Android One smartphones. They’re so afraid of Stock Android cannibalizing sales of MIUI based smartphones.
Once they conducted a Twitter poll on MIUI vs Stock Android. People overwhelming voted for Stock Android. That explains a lot.
