Zomato - Some unique details

Zomato has released a report for FY19 over the preferences of Indians across 200 cities where the food delivery platform is available.

• In Bhagalpur and Gaya (Bihar) delivery executives are giving a boost to environmental conservation having more delivery executives riding bicycles than motorbikes.

• In Guwahati, Assam, a delivery executive faced some difficulties when he reached the banks of the Brahmaputra river and had to cross it to deliver food to a river. The agent had to use a boat ride enroute to delivery the food.

• In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, which is known for its street food, more people ordered for midnight deliveries than compared to the financial capital of Mumbai.

• Ooty, Tamil Nadu has registered the highest average transaction value across all the 200 cities.

• A massive order was placed in India’s pink city of Jaipur which was worth a whopping Rs 1,84,760. It was delivered in 415 boxes.

• In Alwar, Rajasthan, one customer had placed 292 delivery orders from 48 different restaurants at the same time.

• The highest delivery frequency was recorded in the Manipal locality of the coastal city of Udupi, in Karnataka.

• Ahmedabad in Gujarat was the city with the most number of orders among tier-II cities. In nearby Anand, pizza was the most preferred dish.

• Vijayawada in Adhara Pradesh witnessed the most number of breakfast orders across India.

• The city of Jammu was found to have more love for fast food among tier-III cities that Zomato operates in.
