Depends on what you buy. I mostly buy breakfast cereal and that is definitely not cheaper in local stores, moreover I redeem my payback points too, plus for the next couple of months, I can redeem the futurebazaar eGVs that I bought at a 20% discount. Its a win win for me. Not that I am going to sell my old stuff there but thinking about it.

Maybe not many standalone stores there around your area!

Actually lots of stores in and around my area. Max discount I got from a local store on a Kelloggs chocos 700 gm pack is 10%, whereas big bazaar carries a super saver pack of 1200 gms, which even with a 10% discount, proves cheaper than the local store. I also buy baggrys and gaia Muesli, which is mostly not available at local stores and I get those too at a discount from big bazaar.

Don’t know about rice, pulses and other household stuff, but with payback point redepmtion and big saver days such as wednesday bazaar, maha bachat sale etc, these too would be cheaper at big bazaar. YMMV though.

Sauce is not a low-margin product. But Salt, chocolates (not all but most of them), biscuits (most of them), etc. are.
