I have bought 3 pieces at less than 4000 each, when Amazon was running 1000 off offer and paytm also simultaneously had 20%/25% cashback offer. Such options are expected at least 3-4 times a year. So one can wait a while, that the best time to purchase.

Amazon sometimes sells Kindle touch under promo for Rs.4999 – I was waiting for such a deal. But nowadays I only find 3rd party deals from PayTM. Is it good to buy a Kindle from PayTM rather than Amazon?

Advantages of Amazon:
1. Any device-related issues are covered by Amazon warranty, especially since these are their own products.
2. Hopefully comes with latest firmware, your account is automatically configured (Convenience, rather than a big plus)

I’m wary of PayTM cuz:
1. If hardware issue, will Amazon provide support if bought from somewhere else?
2. Amazon.com (US) Kindles come in 2 variants – one with ADs which are price subsidized, what if we receive such imported devices?

it’s brand warranty, PAYTM has nothing to do with it….. nothing to worry about.

this is the current best that I could see… there will be little left to post if we got into historic comparisons….
useful for those who can’t wait… those who can wait… should skip then.

I have got 3 pieces from the same seller through Paytm. They were all latest models without any ads. They came unlinked to any account but linking was one time affair and very easy, just like logging into your email. All of them auto updated to the latest firmware over the air, including the recently released update.

However, do not have experience regarding warranty support.
