This is better for gaming, that one is better for almost everything else.

How is its battery backup? Have heard its too low.

I am considering ryzen 5 laptops only – asus vivobook, acer asprire 3, lenovo 330, hp 15q.

asus – looks good, lightweight. but battery reviews bad. also RAM+SSD expansion pain in the a$$.

acer- cheap, better battery, easy RAM+SSD access. but looks bulky, and many long term reviews of it stopped working in a few months.

lenovo- costly.
hp – seems ok.

will probably buy any of these, depending on the discount on offer on amazon/flipkart today.

any i5 deals upcoming in this budget? would prefer ryzen 5 over older gen i5 considering price differences.

and i think its cheaper to get 4GB versions and then adding an 8 GB stick extra, as compared to buying 8GB versions directly.

wont be playing games, so no need of dedicated graphics. thats why thinking ryzen 5 to be better for normal usage.

i5 8th gen is better no matter you want to use normally or for gaming

But i5 8th gen will almost always be quite costlier than ryzen, even in deals. If the price difference is not substantial, then of course i will go for it.

Btw, isnt the integrated graphics in ryzen 5 better than the i5?

I had bad experience with AMD before where computer started misbehaving after about 2 years. So would like Intel instead which overall performs stably over long term.

Both look quite similar specs wise. Performance should also be quite similar. Asus has got backlit keyboard, so you will have to go with Asus if you want that necessarily. Otherwise both of them are quite similar.

Prices of both have increased now by 2k. You should have bought any of them earlier by arranging an Axis card. Get an Axis ASAP account via the app and online kyc, and use that virtual debit card, if you cannot arrange the Axis card.

I myself bought the Acer one, since it was giving me bumped up exchange value for my old HP AMD A8 lappy ( got 6400 exchange price) + 2k Axis discount.

Its been 48 hours since the order and they havent shipped the lappy yet!!
