Bhai logo – i was using Airtel Prepaid but understand that they have stopped 3G services here in Maharashtra recently though they never sent any notification. My outgoing is stopped but connects some times. I have Redmi Note 5 which has one 4G slot and one 3G. I am using Jio in 4G slot. My questions are -
a. Do I need to change my phone which supports both 4G sims?
b. Do I need to port my Airtel number to Jio (or any other which you feel supports 3G)
c. any other solution?

A- yes
B- Jio doesn’t support 3g/2g.
C- port to voda-idea or bsnl if 3g/2g available in your area. (You can Google it)

airtel is slowly discontinuing their 3g services to all over india. by following airtel way, there is higher chance that remaining operators may discontinue 3g services in future. so i suggest you to continue using airtel if you receiving good 2g/4g signal. or if you need 3g compulsory, then i suggest BSNL.

Yes..agree with you..there is higher chance other operator’s will follow Airtel to discontinue 3G/2G.
But they have stopped outgoing already and my phone doesnt 4G sim as it has only one 4G slot. What other option I have?

didnt get you. How SIM swap helps as one slot is limited to 3G.

outgoing/incoming will work if you put your 2nd sim network as “2g only”
