People nowdays have became too much greedy, as if these companies are establish only to give you free service as well as loots and get bankrupt just for your happiness, i am in my senses from last 20 years and since than no matter how much i shopped in any nearby grocery store, i never have got any discount on any grocery items, mostly all branded stuff are sold on mrp, also in bigbazaar or any other mega store the discounts are on those products that no one would frequently buy, grofers and bigbasket are revolutionary for me as they provide cashbacks and discount on all items except oil and ghee, i first bought from grofers few months ago with cashbacks upto 35% which made me very happy because no dealer even biggest wholesalers can give so much discount on daily essential products, but than it shutted down in my city nashik, after that i came across bigbasket which was even more better than grofers because they grofers use to give cashback and discounts on mrp but here many products were already discounted from mrp and after that there was extra cashback and discounts, that too upto 40% so for example a product worth Rs.100 is discounted 10% and we use to combine it with payzapp cashback and further discounts, so it comes in just Rs. 50 so flat upto 50% discount, i order almost every thursday from bigbasket and normally get discounts more than 30% on all products, i bet no supermarket or store can give such discount, if u have brains than bigbasket is very good if u don’t know how to get cashbacks and discounts its not at all for u go visit nearest supermarket and be happy with 10-15% discounts.

I don’t intend to offend, but it seems that you have not purchased anywhere except from Grofers & Bigbasket. It is clearly evident when you said “also in bigbazaar or any other mega store the discounts are on those products that no one would frequently buy”. That is completely incorrect as they offer discounts on items which have very high sales also. It’s really shocking that you said sometimes(at BB) it comes upto 50% discount. Can you suggest some popular products that belong to this category? In fact, the truth is that BB sells most of the products at MRP. Also, keep in mind that all the offers that you are availing now are by the payment platforms but not by BB. Per se, BB has never had any good offer except for the 1st order which every online store has. The day the payment platforms stop these offers, one will see the true potential of BB. I have been purchasing groceries from at least 10 different online stores and 5 offline stores. I have researched on all these, and I found that BB actually has only one competitive advantage i.e., “very wide inventory (portfolio)”. Other than this it has actually nothing. For example, it doesn’t have free express delivery (like Grofers has), it has very high Minimum Order Value for free delivery (1000Rs), whereas all others have 250-500 Rs. Zopnow, in fact has no MOV for free delivery. So, it is most likely that BB in future, will retain only those customers who order online for the sake of comfort but will lose customers who are price sensitive as better prices are available at stores like More, D-mart, Reliance fresh, Total etc. Okay, since I won’t lie about my money, let me put it like this…The day payzapp stops its offer on BB, I myself will not place a single order on BB as I get better prices at More, Reliance, D-mart etc. Its that simple. There is nothing greedy in asking for less than MRP or in asking for 30 or 40% discount because no one will sell for loss.

Even i don’t want to offend anybody here, but what i shared was my experiance i don’t know in which city bigbazaar, D Mart, etc offer huge discount on daily needed stuff but here in nashik i have hardly seen heavy discounts on my listed daily items that i normally use, bigbasket gives discount mostly on toothpastes like colgate, pepsodent that my family is happy to use, it gives discount upto 20% on head and shoulders, pantene shampoos, that too my family is happy to use, it gives discount on digestive biscuits, juices, sometimes even on butter and cheese, mostly all the brands that i need, and plus the payzapp and fc discount upto 35% that is running from like 6 months now, but ya i agree its for first customer, but i have too many sim cards in my family so atleast for next 6 coming months there wont be shortage of new accounts for me, so till now bb is best for me here in nashik, i wont say its the best for all but atleast better than most of the offline and online stores.

Thanks Bro…I completely understand your view. BTW, I am from Bengaluru. D-Mart here rocks. Just give a try at D-mart if you have one in Nashik (There might be one in Nashik as the company’s HQ is in MH). You will definitely like it if they offer same discounts there also.
