When buying olive oil, you should look for “Extra Virgin Olive Oil” & “Cold pressed” (or cold extracted). (This one says “Extra light”). Here “light” has nothing to do with fat or calories. It lacks the olive flavor. Google for “extra virgin vs extra light olive oil”

Extra virgin olive oil is only for dipping breads such as sour bread or to consume with salads as it burns at a much lower temperature making it useless for Indian style cooking. For normal Indian cooking you have to use normal olive oil only which is treated and is more resistant to heat but on the flip side isn’t as rich in nutrients as extra virgin olive oil.

Olive oil is not meant for cooking….that too indian style. Instead use normal refined oil.
Oil companies are making fool of customers by coming up with different names like extra light & pomace

dont misguide people to use refined oil, that is the junkest of all,

have u googled about what is extra light and pomace ???

one should buy extra virgin olive oil for raw eating like salads and dressing, and use extra light or refined or light oil(all in olive oil category only) for indian cooking

Please dont buy the pomace version of olive oil, they are the worst machine pressed and has lot of chemicals in it, it has only 4% of pure olive content in it….

Extra virgin should not be used for deep frying or any over heat cooking….

No intention of misguiding others.

You can see some details here – http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-extra-light-oli...

If you really want to enjoy the taste of olive oil & also the healthiest option then “extra virgin olive oil” is the only option.
Else no use of taking other varieties of olive oil. And if you google more you will find that in India lot of adulteration in olive oil is there.
So actually we should only go for some really good brand like Figaro etc.
