Oh, I am so happy you brought this up. Let me clarify this for everyone. A lot of people are not aware of the correct rules about indefinite articles. People think (and are incorrectly taught) that only words that start with vowel sounds (a,e,i,o,u) should be preceded by “an”. However, the correct rule is that you should use “an” before any word that has a vowel sound when you pronounce it.
Therefore, “an SBI” (SBI is pronounced as es-bee-ayi), “an MBA” (MBA is pronounced as em-bee-a), and “an hour” (hour is pronounced as au-er) are all correct.
