People are not going to understand that. These are the one who complained that their card is used by someone else.

Don’t use Amazon’ services if you think it is not relevant to establish your identity with them. How will they know who you are? How will they know you have only one or multiple accounts..

you need not use any Apps like Paytm/Amazon Pay etc if you dont want discount cash backs- just shop when the price is cheap enough in amazon as such & that too on COD (not impossible) (paytm does not offer COD)
Now aadhar is must to file ITR / Passport application/ some states have made it must for Driving liecence / banks still ask aadhar even though it is not must as per supreme court.
Mobile phone companies have stopped asking aadhar- 2 IDS like DL /Pan or voter id etc
If you are in a cash business (dont need the pittance 6-7% FD interest etc ) – you can keep cash under mattress & no need to deposit cash to bank use ATM/ online banking etc .
One can not operate banks with out Mobile no/OTP .
all bank activities above minimum are reported to IT ! you can not escape. you buy expensive car / register property /invest in mutual funds/ trade stock- income tax will send a notice to you as all are reported .. sunglasses

It is simply risky to give your aadhar details to private entities even if it is Amazon. You never know how your information would be used. It is India where there is no strong policy for citizen rights. If something happens you would be only at risk.

I am a salaried employee, so every financial transaction are tracked.

Point is you would be helpless if your data is misused without your concern. I can not understand why people consider privacy as part of wrong doing.

Sample example to prove the point
https://www.businesstoday.in/current/corporate/...
This came in news when it number of affected users became high (31 lakh mobile phone subscribers). What would have happened if it affected only 31 thousands user and you are one of them?

Simple question why Amazon needs to know who I am? Does Amazon US ask for SSN while ordering?

Not just private entities. Aadhaar will put you individually and the country collectively at risk in myriad ways. Aadhaar in government hands is the most powerful weapon it can use against you

If that’s not bad enough, giving you Aadhaar or even other ID details to private entities like Amazon is double jeopardy.
