Please tell us that we will get dimes for each and every deal or like earlier it was 5 dimes per day. Please Clarify us what is exactly so we also know what we will be getting.
So since its algorithm, I cannot put exact number…
But if someone is say posting 30 or 50 or 100 sub-standard deals or very very low quality deals (Let me say spams).. in such cases, user may end up getting 0 dimes.
End of the day, Users sharing high quality deals will benefit. coz thats waht . we all want as community… really good deals.
I request all admins to explain Everything regarding new UPDATE IN DETAIL as there are still many confusions and doubts regarding it..
We dont like to disturb you frequently for small queries and doubts..pls try to clarify in proper way regarding dimes, karmas ,hotness, gold dimes and many more things..
It will make things more easy and clear..

Do karma gets added when deal hotness go beyond 1000 degree or more?
Karma and dimes co-relation is positive or opposite?

There is no direct co-relation between dimes and Karma… Karma is added when deals goes above 100, 200 and 500 hotness respectively.
This is not happening. I see the same deals Hot section from morning till now is this because of new changes to the way how the display works or No great deals coming in. I feel I’m missing the best deals. Losing interest to check page. What you say, guys?
Backwass algorithm. Same deals showing up for three days… Only thing holding me from uninstalling is, new or latest deals tab..

@bumblefoot @Nigel Even if deal is expired then also they are coming in hot deal section please check so may deals is expired then also coming in hot deals section.

Why did the admins not bother crediting my thread when it was clear that I finished first?
The credit was already given… which means you will end up getting dimes since you were first one to update the thread with all deals.

Before promoting a deal by system , Admin’s n team have to check whether it is repost !

Edit time was checked and most of the products (except 2) were updated by MJ1986 first and hence credit is given to both of you.

I have 2 questions regarding credits & hotness , 1- If a deal reaches 300 degrees in 5 days and reaches 1000 degrees in 10 days , so credits will be given to 300 degrees or 1000 degrees ? , 2- Yesterday Udemy deal reached more than 600 degrees in 3 hours and decreases to “0” in 3:30 hours and again reaches to 372 at 4:00 hour , do lost hotness will not get added to deals ? This system issue happened to other dimers as well , it should be corrected immediately !

@syed786 we have merged it.
1. Hotness is calculated for 5 days only.
2. It may change if dimers are voting it down. we have cross checked and there is no system bug as such.

This whole system is too opaque and I am really surprised they remaining dimers just accept it without any attempt at clarification (maybe I am wrong and somewhere someone has asked)

In both cases, the credit should go to me because I finished the 5 deals first. In the 2nd thread Nigel has explicitly stated it will go to me
Now my questions are:
1) For which day it is?
2) Did the credit go to me or someone else and if so why?
3) Does hotness of 569 and 638 degrees equate to only 2 dimes? If so, many of us are wasting our time posting here

Though i cannot see exact dimes, but i think it would have increased by 2.6 Dimes
It was for 27th btw…
To be frank, that deal would have never made to FPD in old system… so you still got 2.6 times more than what you would have got it old system.
That deal only 6 people voted up while 2 voted down.
Also dimes is not directly co-related with hotness. Some deals with 400-500 hotness also gets upwards of 20 dimes.

Today I got only 3 dimes
I think my 5 days older deals deserve more dimes because few of them have more than 500° hotnees

Please indicate against each thread (where you indicate the degrees of hotness), the dimes as well. Also please indicate the person who will get the dimes
These 3 pieces of info should be visible to every member of DD not just for their own threads but other people’s threads as well
It will help bring better deals
Plus it will avoid arguments and save the time of admins (I for one would not want to argue with neelaksh or MJ1996) if the thread is worth only 1-2 dimes.
Please do this on a priority basis (and not the usual glacial speed at which DD moves in terms of software)

This deals was posted 6 days before going live. The hotness will only increase when deal is live and bumped to front page. So am I wasting my time posting these deals, as dimes have already been credited within 5 days
Hi,
While submitting the deal, we request you to add correct start date accordingly… It will help system to understand that its upcoming deal and it will adjust credits accordingly on start date + 5 days.
Hope that helps. We keep adding start date but sometimes it might happen we might miss out a deal or two.
