Before buying, please read this review:
“Even though it says that it supports more than 1gb data transfer, do not get fooled by it. This is not a Gigabit WiFi router. The Ethernet port on the back only supports a maximum speed of 100mbps. So even though it claims to support more than 1gbps speed, you will never get a speed of more than 100mbps, and the wifi standard 801ac is completely wanted on this product.
Also point to note here, the range even in 2.4ghz isn’t that great."
The title is misleading. It’s not a Gigabit router.
Anyone using this router? I need feedback, suggestions.
My sole intension is to connect mobile to tv either by mhl cable or other means which is reliable and cheapest option.
Our Samsung smart TV has lan Port but not WiFi so casting mobile is not feasible right now. To add wifi to tv I need to connect either compatible wifi USB module or such router or mhl cable.
I was thinking of getting firestick or Chromecast but those devices are severly limited. I would prefer full fledged android os device with good specs with which I can play high end games too which both firestick and Chromecast can’t do.
Another requirement was to stream tv online instead of depending on cable or Tata sky which both suck.
So if I connect this router to tv by lan cable and connect this router to another modem, router wirelessly, I would get wifi to my tv, casting support and decent performing Android device which mobile itself is. This combination will serve me for streaming jio like tv app, torrent streaming and what not, games as well.
I know cromecast will do same but not sure how future proof cromecast is. And for that also I would need WiFi range extender as my modem, router is quite far from tv i.e. in bedroom.
