Any one suggest good laptop config foe running 4 vms. One with 4gb ram and other 3vms at 2gb ram. Is i5 8th gen with 16gb enough? Can i get around 40k with atleat 5hrs battery backup?

There aren’t very many good reviews of laptops in the mid-range even. Need to scour international reviews. But unless its very horribly optimized 8th gen. laptops should be mostly in the 5-6 hour range particularly if its without a dGPU. My Acer Nitro 5 which is no paragon of efficiency gets between 5.5- 7 hours depending upon workload and display brightness. This is with an Nvidia MX150. But GTX 1050 is the lowest one should go if interested in gaming. In that case battery backup would be lower by upto~2hrs.
16GB should be sufficient….for now. You can later upgrade to 32 gigs and take advantage of falling prices.
You may consider the H-series processors which should provide between 30-40% perf. uplift relative to the U-series ones.
Edit: This particular model is pretty good in terms of CPU and Gpu perf. but time away from the mains is not its strong suit. Lenovo has not done Ryzen any favors here.
Ryzen 5 2500U is little bit Superior to i5 8th gen + Ryzen 2500U has got built in Vega 8 GPU
this laptop has got worst hard drive, so I recommend the below updates to make it good

Add 4 GB extra RAM
