Statement by Oneplus :

Hey everyone,

Hope you’ve been keeping well during these times. During these unprecedented times, the health and wellbeing of our employees, community, partners and contractors has always remained our top priority.

In the past couple of weeks, we shared information about pricing for the OnePlus 8 Series 5G in India and about availability and sale dates.

Although we were looking to have 29th May as our open sales date for the OnePlus 8 Series 5G, due to unforeseen circumstances, our production was temporarily halted last week and has altered our sales plan. Because of this, we had to reschedule our date for open sales in India.

But we’re happy to let you know that production is already back up and running. In order to start bringing the OnePlus 8 Series 5G to you as quickly as possible, we will hold a special limited sale across online and offline channels for the OnePlus 8 5G at 12PM on 29 May, 2020.

The new sales schedule for the full OnePlus 8 Series5G lineup – The OnePlus 8 5G and the OnePlus 8 Pro 5G will be out soon. Stay tuned!

We can’t begin to tell you how much we appreciate your patience through these challenging circumstances. Many of you have been telling us how eager you are to get your hands on the OnePlus 8 Series 5G, and we have been equally excited to bring these devices to you as quickly as possible. Hope you agree it has all been worth the wait!

New Sale Date (limited quantity) – 29th May 12 pm

People are already contemplating if OP8 is worth it or OP7T is a more sensible option and with this now you will find even more people going for 7T instead.

I have been using the oneplus 5 for almost 3 years now and I want to upgrade.

In My budget I have two options Oneplus 8 – 6gb – 128 G Version or Oneplus 7 Pro – 8 Gb – 256 Gb Version

both models are having approx the same price (1k difference with OP7pro higher price than OP8)

I am really confused which one to buy.

I understand that OP8 may be future proof with latest processor and 5G but having only 6Gb RAM and ugly Green color option concerns me.

At the same time worried that OP7 Pro may be old enough not to get official ROM updates after 1 year.

Please help me choose.

Apparently the Pop Up Boxes will be delivered only on July 13 at the earliest. Some screenshots even show the 8 Pro availability after 34 days, that’s like early July. They are apparently exporting the 8 Pros to Europe and USA from India. They have lost a few customers with this delayed launch. They could at least hold a sale for people who have pre booked. What was the point of the whole pre book program if there’s not going to be any preference for those who spent 1000 rupees?

Well in a twist the 6gb version was not on sale. I had been banging my head to decide between 8 amd 7pro amd finally decided to buy op8 6gb and today it wasn’t available in sale.

Bought the 8gb version instead. Got it for 41999 effective.

Isn’t IQOO 3 at 35k more worth than OP7T?

Benevolent Benevolent
Link Copied

On the paper, yes, specs are better, but IQOO being a new brands there are too many anomalies to deal with with their UI, support and long term performance.

IQOO3 seems to support more 5G bands than OP8P? 3 vs 1.

will never pay more than 10-15k max for cheap chinese products – there so called flagships have poor brand value (no elder knows OP OPPO but samsung apple all know), local cameras just like 10K phones, just ok screens (specs are high refresh rates and amoled but quality nowhere near ), no premium look (all look same mostly), no premium features like s-pen, no military grade or water ratings, even cheap companies dont even give good earphones or proper chargers in box even in such expensive devices – heck better buy samsung and apple anyday even if lower variants

Was awaiting your comment on this 😂, I don’t understand your hate on op phones especially, but op has captured the market value in 2019 with 7 series their best yet and surving in this market where lg,sony htc has failed, and once the 8 pro screen issue gets resolved it will be the most sold premium phone in india mad maybe world wide and you can again flame the company, although I do understand you have viable points but you fail to criticize other companies especially samsung with their high end prices and low end processor. And at the end it does not matter what we both think but the customer has full right to spend where they want it’s their money.

First impressions are good considering i am coming from oneplus 5, so OS is all familiar but the display is something new.

Frankly i was waiting to test the 90hz and HDR. I think these are a little hyped.

90hz is smooth but can’t really say if its due to new mobile or really due to refresh rate. And HDR for some reason Oneplus 5 (nom HDR) shows more vibrant colors than OP8

Camera are nice improvement over op5,
macro seems useless very low quality in normal light
