Where you get to know that it is VA panel ?!
Disappointed to know despite its QLED panel.

Motorola 55 inch 4k, seems promising Dolby vision, Dolby Atmos with IPS panel, Android 9, joystick at 40k. No other TVs has Dolby V/A with IPS combo.
Or these features are trap, and any negatives about this Moto TV ?
@malikcool @getready

I’m a big fan of Mi phones, never suggest Moto phones to friend. Me buying Moto TV is like confusions.

Previously got Micromax TV, and it didn’t even last long (poor service, bought before Mi launched TVs in India). Moto TVs being new, have doubts about their services………. Actually they clubbed with Flipkart (Jeeves) for services.

Also I can save 25k and buy another TV to another room.
Also, main content is dth only, online rare…. So qled not required, led fine.

AFAIK its QLED+VA most of the times (may be TN+QLED?)
There is no IPS+ QLED
Not sure about Samsung TVs but all those QLED monitors Samsung sell (27" QHD, 34" WQHD) they all have VA Panels
That being said VA+QLED look much better compared to normal VA panels

Which is this version “Mi TV, 55” 4x"? They have only mi tv 4x pro. Or they have two versions? I Was referring 4x pro 55 inches which is bad in terms of picture quality.

Absolutely. QLED is a QLED normal LED can’t compete it whether it’s from any brand.

@getready

There are two 55" 4k variants
Bulky one and the slim one
Bulky – 4X pro
Slim – 4 pro (First to launch at 39999)

In one of the reviews on youtube I saw someone mention that its a va panel. Anyway.. Complete shit show for oneplus in my opinion of course. Agree with getready, launch presentation was insipid with a lot of blunders.

Oneplus 7 t has 1000 nits brightness boldly shown off, no mention for the TV LOL. Netflix on phone, Netflix at a later date on tv LOL.

Imho Oneplus is getting greedy and messing up their products. The stand for the TV is an accessory sold separately for the Q1, comes as standard with the Q1 pro. They could have given a cheap plastic leg stand as standard. Q1 comes only with wall mount. What a complete shit show. Which tv comes only with wall mount? joy
On digit review its mentioned the brightness maybe around 500+nits on op tv.

Anyway the launch offer of 5k cashback and 2k sbi is ok deal, still not great for me as I like table mount, and the stand would cost idk maybe around 5k.

Also q1 has 20 watts speaker only I guess.
They spilled little bit on this difference. Saying no extra speakers.
Q1 seems worthless, after seeing your points

20 watt speaker is ok for me but it has no 3.5mm jack. I have very good speakers connected to my VU luxury tv California stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye

Not sure
I did not order in my anticipation of optv with exceptional hardware (Q8C is tizen based)
There was one-day delivery available to my location so most probably they would’ve delivered

Based on the partial specs listed, its 50w for both but 4 vs 8 speakers (Q1 vs Q1 pro)

Update :- I was almost convinced to buy OnePlus TV but not anymore. Thankfully I found the internal specs. OnePlus is totally mad. Now no way I am going to buy this.

@vickyVicky As per your requirements I would suggest you to wait for some reviews of Motorola TV to come out and then decide. It looks good to me atleast on paper. Even internals are better in Motorola TV as compared to OnePlus TV Referring only (Processor/Ram/Internal Storage). I am also thinking to take Motorola TV but will wait for some reviews. But anyways don’t go with OnePlus TV at any cost.

(as per this oneplus TV uses VA panel, however it is Q1 pro, need to search for Q1)
https://www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-tv-r...w/

VA and QLED, these two are different areas
VA = tells about alignment of planes
QLED = Back light type, unlike regular white back light, uses particular band of light to glow the quantum dots.

Why it uses VA panel because, VA panel gives high refresh rates at 4K to support motion smoothness, IPS have its own benefits but lacks high refresh rates

Mi also uses VA panel

OP TV is not in my list now.

Will consider iFFalcon/VU/Mi TVs.
My primary use is DTH. Will use Prime Video/Online content as well but that’s secondary (Less use).

Looking for a 55" TV with smooth experience and good audio/visual for a long term use.

I think 4k would be future proof.

TVs from Mi lags? @getready as you mentioned above. How is it compared to VU/TCL?

@vickyVicky

Go with Motorola 55" Tv its he best one of my forend is a reviewer he got 43k inch fro review it was good on par with LG and sony

Its not that bad, the processor
This Philips OLED TV also uses the same cpu + Mali G51 GPU (probably same on 1+ TV)
https://www.techradar.com/in/reviews/philips-55...

That being said, 8GB storage option for an 70/100k TV is unbelievable!
Even cheaper 55" 4K TVs come with 16GB storage and almost similar CPU/GPU (Quadcore A53 Chip)

Exactly, we can find similar performance @ cheaper/half the price.

Out of 8gb internal storage only 5gb will be usable. It’s like internal storage is there, but it’s not there. What we will do with just 5 GB.

This is too bad I was expecting atleast 32GB as others are offering 16GB (Expect Mi they still offer 8GB even in newer versions) @ half the price. But 8GB…… Seriously, this is not at all acceptable for a price tag of 70k/100k.

This is top in my list as of now.
Still i am a bit skeptical if Moto will be providing timely updates or not.

The next option is MI 4X 55" at exactly same price with no IPS panel and 2GB/8GB config.

@vickyVicky
Any other suggestions u have? This Moto TV has a lot to offer but I I wont do any gaming on my TV.

The only concern with Moto is Updates and After sales service.
I need TV for long use.

Onplus TV cancelled. Paisa bach gaya. stuck_out_tongue

https://www.livemint.com/technology/tech-review...

OnePlus TV review: The best TV we can’t recommend

The bottomline is, OnePlus’ TV doesn’t look bad. In fact, colours are quite good and if you can bring high quality content, you will have a field day. But it won’t quite be as much fun as the Sony A9G. And the picture quality isn’t good enough to justify spending an extra 10 or 20 grand over a Mi, Vu or TCL AndroidTV.

The OnePlus TV Q1 is priced at Rs. 69,900 and the Q1 Pro will cost you Rs. 99,900. Neither is particularly affordable and neither is worth the extra money you’re paying over something like a Mi TV. The mathematics just don’t make sense.

OnePlus did make a sleek remote by replicating the AppleTV remote, but when the interface it’s dealing with is haphazard in the first place, there’s little a remote can fix. The fact that Sony delivers old school looking remotes but still solves a lot of AndroidTV’s UI problems is proof of the effort the company delivers into into making its televisions.

Almost every television that costs in lakhs is better than the OnePlus TV in terms of picture quality. True, the company beats some of them inthe audio quality department (thanks to the soundbar), but audio quality is secondary when you buy a TV isn’t it?
