In fact, I have replaced my earlier PRO with AIR and I am extremely happy with processing speed for Autocad types applications too!

Pro only if you want to have DVD drive on your system.

Air has multiple advantages

Pro has almost double config. processor, retina display, better graphics and hdmi slot, 2 thunderbolt slots.
And even Pro retina doesn’t has disk drive.
Also Macbook Air doesn’t has SSD, it has PCIe flash storage which is even better than SSD

If you need lighter, slim and cheaper laptop, definitely Air is better but not for high performance

And all macbooks have international warranty

I didn’t understand why it was even a discussion. Macbook pro is currently Apple’s top end laptop. Period. Why compare it to cheaper alternative Macbook Air? If you are like ’I’ve a lot of money & I’ll throw it around, go for pro or else settle for Air’.

Hackintosh is pointless. The only reason one should get a mac instead of windows machine is the relative stability and security you get with mac compared to an average windows system. As far as apple fooling pro buyers, the same is true for the air. Both are more expensive compared to similarly specced laptops from other manufacturers. Air is cheaper and a little lighter in comparison with pro. Other than that, air offers no advantage over the pro. The low res display kills the deal completely for me. Waited months so I can find a decent deal on a retina pro and got a 2014 model with couple months warranty left for about 59k. Totally worth it. Also niece has a 2015 air. Macbook Air and Pro both are nice product and not over priced as other companies also offer same products at same or more price like HP Spectre Series,Lenovo Thinkpad Series,Lenovo Yoga Series, Microsoft Surface Series,Dell XPS

They serve a Different category of users.
