Finally Paytm is going to charge 2% for loading money to paytm wallet for classic customers!!!
Anyone knows how they are going to separate classic customer & privilege customer!!!
How will i know if i will be charged or no?

customers : if u wanna add money via credit card, charge is 2%.
Then whats use in using paytm !?
i would then prefer other apps in market like Gpay/Bhim/amazonPay/airtelWallet/phonePe

for users : benefit – usage of debit card. but merchant has charges for accepting wallet.
for merchants – benefit – only upi payments. like all other apps only on upi its free.
Need to confirm that it is only on add money or also on payment like shopping/ bill payment etc

That means if we pay through paytm via credit card on zomato or any other merchant then we have to pay 2% extra.
I think very bad move from paytm.

Classic customers are such customers whose paytm wallet account has been flagged for wallet to bank transfer misuse (via credit card) in internal review (conducted periodically after 6 months). Privilege customers are normal customers (who are not classic)
I never transfered my wallet balance to bank , atleast in last 1 year..still I also got the same msg
No use of American Express credit card now. It gave 1000 membership points on 6 × 1000 transactions.

Try to add 100 rs in your wallet from cc after the update. If they charge you extra then you are a classic customer otherwise you are a privilege customer.

Paytm has got monopoly in the offline market with small payments(street vendors and shop owners). Now its time for them to cash in. Unless someone else comes as a major competition, they won’t budge. Personally for me, i will move to other wallets for online/offline wherever excepted. Phonepe is most common. Otherwise, load a small amount for small payments and not bother about the cashbacks and use the good old credit card when everything else fails.

What are the charges of Add money to wallet?
For Classic customers, a nominal charge of 2% will be levied on Add money to wallet via Credit card. For further information and latest updates please visit https://www.paytmbank.com/ratesC...es.
Please note that these charges are only for Credit Card pay mode; Classic customers can continue to Add Money to their Wallet at 0% charge using any other pay mode (including Debit Card, UPI, Internet banking). Privilege customers can Add Money to Wallet at 0% charge for all pay modes (including Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, Internet banking).
Who are Classic customers?
Customers are categorised as Classic customers on the basis of an analysis of their account usage patterns. A customer whose account is flagged upon observation of anomalous activity conducted such as circumvention of wallet to bank charges (as mentioned in https://www.paytmbank.com/ratesC...es) while transferring money from wallet to bank – will be categorized as a Classic customer.
Who are Privilege customers?
All customers who are not categorised as Classic customers, as mentioned above, will be categorised as Privilege customers.
What is the difference between Classic and Privilege customers?
The difference between Classic and Privilege customers is based on the categorisation of customers that shall be levied the applicable charges on Add Money to Wallet via Credit Card. The Classic Customers are charged at 2% for Add Money to wallet via Credit Card; whereas there are no charges levied for Add Money (via any payment mode) to wallet by the Privilege customers. How does a customer become a Classic customer?
Paytm Payments Bank continuously monitors the usage pattern of our customers. If any anomalous activity is detected or observed in an account during periodic review such as attempt to circumvent the wallet to bank charges to take money into their bank accounts (as mentioned in https://www.paytmbank.com/ratesC...es), customer status will be updated to be Classic.
How to move from Classic to Privilege customer?
Paytm Payments Bank will conduct a review of the customers’ accounts every six months and if no such anomalous activity has been observed therein during such period, then the customers’ accounts shall be converted from Classic to Privilege.
Otherwise, customer will continue to remain Classic customer, till the next review.
